🌱 Your development path
- Fathi completed the Social Impact Week programme in March 2025 and joined Accenture on the Software Engineering Degree Apprenticeship in September 2025. Fathi shares “After my A-levels in 2022, I really struggled to continue. What was initially supposed to be 1 gap year became 3. At a point where my hope was very low, Accenture offered me the chance to experience their Social Impact Week and it was the most fun I had! I worked with my team cohesively and we managed to create a wonderful website and present it to a panel. I finally saw a path forward and felt a little less lost, I saw that soft skills matters a lot in the corporate world- probably as much as the technical! That was the confidence I needed to breeze through the interview stages despite having no prior tech experience, and today I'm working at Accenture with my favourite team member from SIW! It couldn't have worked out more perfectly, and I recommend this programme for anyone who is as lost and confused as I was. I promise that you'll find your way.”
- Rhys completed the Social Impact Week programme in March 2025 and successfully secured a place on the Software Engineering Degree Apprenticeship in September 2025. He currently plays a key role for maintaining systems and firmware for a large energy client, supporting the development and upkeep of smart meters in homes around the UK. Rhys mentions: "It's a big world when you finish school and things might not seem clear; if full-time university isn't for you then degree apprenticeships are the way. Accenture have done a fantastic job with their degree apprenticeship programmes, allowing you to venture into work and study part-time at university. It makes for a very substantial and rewarding blend of working and learning, and everything learnt outside of work can be applied to the role. If you're struggling to decide what you want to do but you're looking for a way to work, learn and earn valuable insights then this is absolutely for you!"
The remainder of the programme will take place virtually, and if required you can be provided with a laptop and internet dongle for use from home.
