Description

Amazon Cabling Infrastructure & Technology is a growing and innovative global team that design and implements ICT infrastructure to support Amazon’s portfolio of corporate offices. Operational excellence is at the forefront of our approach, raising the bar across all aspects of the project delivery process to provide our customers with a seamless IT delivery experience.

For the EMEA region we are looking for an exceptional individual with a successful track record and progressive career history in the area of low voltage structured cabling, as a Design Engineer/Project Manager. This role will be office based with 20% travel throughout EMEA.

The successful candidate will be responsible for partnering with our design consultants and internal customers to standardize our structured cabling and server room designs to accelerate delivery and lower cost across our portfolio of building launches. This role requires an experienced professional with a background in structured cabling and has experience of generating designs as well as providing effective oversight. The Design Engineer/Project Manager is expected to collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders and external vendors to drive best practices and establish tools, and standards consistent with large corporate deployments. The candidate will be required to have more than a cabling background. It is expected they will also have a strong IT background with knowledge of other facets of an IT network, such as networking, WiFi, AV, Security, PDU, UPS and Smart Building technologies. Your experience will help us to drive continuous improvement and development for our infrastructure.

As a member of this global team, you will engage with key stakeholders and vendors across various disciplines to ensure the ICT infrastructure is compliant with Amazon & Industry standards and ready for commencement of building occupation.
You are the right person for this job if you have a solid end user focus and a passion for producing high-quality deliverables. You must be a self-starter and a critical thinker to deliver results with a curiosity and drive for learning. You must demonstrate the ability to efficiently plan and prioritize deliverables and resources across multiple projects and working groups. This position requires you to manage stakeholder expectations, budgets, schedules and scope. You must exhibit bias for action, and not rely on others to show you the path forward.
