Description

Operations is the beating heart of Amazon. This key part of our business ensures we fulfil and dispatch orders efficiently so that our customers receive their items on time. As an Operations Manager, you'll bring teams together to drive excellence in safety, quality, and productivity across our sites. You'll lead other managers and create operational plans that help teams meet their targets. This role focuses on driving operational excellence to create the Amazon of tomorrow.

Key job responsibilities
• Manage and develop a team of Area Managers, providing mentorship and coaching to support their professional growth
• Lead operational teams during assigned shifts, addressing escalations and implementing solutions to enhance site performance
• Analyse performance metrics against business objectives and develop action plans to drive operational excellence
• Partner with cross-functional teams, including Human Resources, Finance, Health and Safety, and Security, to ensure seamless operations
• Design and implement initiatives that improve productivity, quality, and safety outcomes across the fulfillment center

A day in the life
You'll be the key link between a number of teams, including finance, safety and operations integration teams. That means you'll be close to the day-to-day operations at your site while also contributing to new ways to innovate.

A typical day will involve meetings with different areas of the business, deep diving into performance and risk metrics for your site, and looking ahead to prepare for different levels of demand. Every day will also involve mentoring and coaching your team. You'll be a source of leadership and support your managers to be the best they can be.

About the team
Customer Fulfilment (CF) is where it all started for Amazon - scaling from a humble team of booksellers to a global operation handling over 1.5 million orders daily. Based in Fulfilment Centres (known as the 'First Mile'), we're the first people in the chain getting products to customers at the speed Amazon is known for. We manage dynamic inventory and deliver round the clock, using emerging technology to offer customers a bigger, better range, quickly and affordably.
