As part of the Global Merchant & Network Services group (GMNS), the Network & Acquirer Solutions (NAS) team is at the core of American Express—uniquely positioned to support every business unit and customer across the enterprise. Each year, we power billions of transactions through our global payments network, enabling Issuing and Acquiring businesses in more than 170 markets.
Our Token Solutions team delivers secure, resilient, and high-performance tokenization capabilities that power digital payments across the globe.
The Senior Manager – Digital Product Management, Token Operational Effectiveness will play a critical role in ensuring the reliability, precision, and scalability of American Express Token Solutions.
This leader will drive operational excellence by developing frameworks, testing programs, monitoring mechanisms, and controls that proactively detect and prevent issues before they result in impacts to our partners.
The ideal candidate combines a strong UAT/testing background, a customer first mindset, robust analytical skills and experience with the enterprise payment ecosystem. Working knowledge of API’s and system architecture is essential.
This will be a fast paced position that requires a multi-disciplinary resource to excel and deliver on our mission statement: Set the quality standard within the network product organisation.
How will you make an impact in this role?
- Collaborate with engineering, product, and platform delivery teams to ensure readiness and quality across all integration touchpoints
- Establish and embed standardised testing processes for all feature delivery
- Lead UAT and sandbox testing programs to validate capabilities prior to production release, ensuring consistent end-to-end performance
- Track and report testing status across all initiatives
- Drive partnership with production support to establish feedback cycles, ensuring product performance problems are addressed
- Lead root cause analysis where issues are identified
- Own the creation and management of test data across token service ecosystems
- Champion automation, simplification, and process optimization initiatives to enhance reliability and reduce manual intervention
- Maintain clear documentation and traceability for all testing, issue management, and system enhancement activities
- Build a culture of ownership, accountability, intellectual curiosity and continuous learning
Minimum Qualifications
- Extensive experience in testing, product operations, payments, digital platforms, or technical delivery
- Demonstrated experience with User Acceptance Testing (UAT) frameworks, including the design, execution, and governance of structured test cycles
- Strong experience of production testing methodologies, including release validation, regression testing, performance testing, and controlled deployment
- Analytical mindset: Ability to leverage data to detect trends, performance issues, and optimization opportunities
- Operational rigor: Strong track record of executing complex operational programs with precision, speed, and attention to detail
- Problem-solving ability: Proactive approach to identifying, diagnosing, and mitigating issues before they escalate
- Relationship building: Ability to build trusted partnerships across cross-functional and external stakeholder groups
- Prioritisation: Strong ability to balance competing priorities in a dynamic, fast-moving environment
- Intellectual curiosity: Eagerness to explore new tools, processes, and innovative approaches to improve operational performance
- Leadership & influence: Demonstrated ability to drive alignment, contribute to team development, and promote a culture of excellence
- Technical fluency: Across digital payments infrastructure, APIs, platform integrations, and system workflows
Preferred Qualifications
- Payments industry experience

Knowledge of network tokenization, digital identity, B2B payments, or wallet ecosystems
