Client Manager/Broker (P&I)

What the day will look like
Management of both client and network relationships for various P&I accounts (as outlined by your line manager). This will include supporting and developing existing client relationships as well as working on and leading new business opportunities. This aspect of the role will include:
- Leading marketing approach (broking) to P&I Clubs and fixed markets
- Presenting terms to the network and/ or client both in writing and presenting if required
- Developing and leading renewal strategy on certain accounts with support from your manager/ senior members of the team. This includes considering alternative retention structures and being able to support with ‘as-if’ work as needed.
- Binding renewals and new business wins and confirming cover including issuance of any documentation in accordance with Aon procedures
- Continuation of existing process related responsibilities. E.g., issuance of initial engagement, terms to client template, issuance of documentation, ECM of key documents, working with other team members as it relates to Brokasure requirements.
- Managing premium payment issues. Outstanding premium chasers etc. and investigating and correcting any entries where GENPAC are unable to allocate. Assisting with commission allocation queries
- Developing and maintaining professional relationships with key underwriters
- Support on the P&I teams thought leadership and publication efforts – this includes contributing to bulletins, the annual P&I review, etc.
- Managing network relationships so that you are considered a ‘go to’ expert for P&I matters, broking, coverage and claims related.
- Maintaining P&I pipeline. (to take on this responsibility from Sarah Lamb upon departure)
- Training of new team members as well as overseeing graduate training/ onboarding (to create a competence schedule based on current level of training vs. training requirements). This will include trade sanctions training, Brokasure training, policy set up etc.
- Julie to oversee/ manage the interaction between P&I CSD and the broking team.
- Management of third party broker set up/ approvals
- Managing market security approval process
- Running monthly AV spreadsheet as a reminder to the team which accounts are not on standard commissions.

Skills and experience that will lead to success
You will ideally have some experience of the below responsibilities
- Experience of working with the network and client to preparing high quality submissions for presentation to underwriters
- Evaluating and comparing quote options and renewal options for clients and the network
- Using your expertise to manage the marketing process i.e., which markets to approach based on appetite, being proactive to defend Aon’s position etc
- Having a good understanding of the differences between the clubs and P&I markets (both financial and non-financial)
