We have an exciting opportunity for an MEP BIM Technician to join one of our creative and inclusive Building Engineering groups in our Leeds Office. Our flourishing team is part of the Property, Science & Industry Portfolio in the North and is undergoing continuing growth and development as it continues to win major work in the data centre, industrial, healthcare, Rail and science sectors. It has nurtured and continues to develop strong relationships with key clients and Architects across the North, UK, and Europe.Current focus areas for the team include several new build hyperscale Data Centres, Rail, hospitals and science laboratories. The team continues to develop our integrated building information modelling service (BIM) delivery to better serve our clients while continuing to drive improvements and innovation in our design quality and remain at the cutting edge of the market.
Reporting to the MEP BIM Manager and other Senior Technicians you will be a key member within this multi-disciplinary and versatile BIM team. Your skills will be instrumental in understanding and delivering high quality Building Information Models. The Arup package is competitive and includes profit sharing. The Opportunity
Based in Leeds but working closely with teams across the UK and beyond, you will be part of a dynamic team working on diverse projects across various sectors. You will also have the opportunity to train and further develop your domain skills, including BIM and Digital.
For allocated projects, the role will include:
Assisting setup and model management of project models in accordance with project standards. Support the MEP team in producing high-quality, data-rich 3D models and drawings - modelling of a range of MEP services, including but not limited to mechanical pipework, ventilation, lighting, power, containment and drainage. Take responsibility for specific aspects BIM delivery and drawing packages on projects from concept through to completion.
Support the proactive coordination of all MEP services elements including close liaison with Architecture and Structural team both internally and externally, plus including spacing for access, maintenance and buildability – in accordance with project scope and agreed tolerances. (Utilising mainly Revit, Navis, Revizto+, ACC/Forma, BIM360, BIMCollab etc).
Mentor team apprentices working within the BIM environment. Use Common Data Environments, utilising collaboration platforms such as ACC/Forma, BIM360. Seek pragmatic digital solutions to improve our working practices. Supporting the project team with technical delivery using Revit primarily. Work towards delivering BIM in accordance with ISO 19650. As part of the Building Engineering group, the candidate will engage with all Senior Technicians and members of the team to support the development of the group as a whole. Your skills will be instrumental in understanding and delivering high quality Building Information Models.
Is this role right for you?
We are looking to speak to people who:
- BTEC ONC / HNC in Building Services Engineering or equivalent BIM qualification.

EngTech qualification or working towards.
Essentials Skills and Knowledge
- Experience within the building services industry (consultancy and / or contractor).
- Good understanding of model and drawing production using Revit MEP (Minimum 4 years experience).
- Understanding of EIRs and BEPs, plus interpretation and implementation.
- Awareness of utilising Navis / ACC to conduct reviews, visual audits and clash detection.
- Experienced in preparation of drawings and models with limited input from engineers, using own experience to develop output from sketches provided by engineers.
- Knowledge of MEP systems and how services should be routed and coordinated to a design level of detail.
- Ability to communicate technical issues to co-professionals, contractors and clients.
- Proven success of working in a team environment.
- Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
- Ability to work on multiple projects.
Desirable skills and knowledge:
- Experience of ACC /Forma, BIM360 collaboration tools.
- An understanding of how building services are coordinated and installed to a construction level of detail.
- Familiarity with industry standards particularly all parts of BS EN ISO 19650.
- A range of sector experience.
- Experience of working in a multi-disciplinary team.
- Revit family creation and maintenance experience (data exchange)
- Programming experience (Dynamo, Python etc)
