We have opportunity for an Electrical Engineer looking for technically challenging work on cutting-edge projects, to join our established Building Engineering team. Arup’s Building Engineering Services team are currently working on a wide range of projects. The location for this role is either Manchester, Liverpool or Leeds. The primary location would be Manchester.

The opportunity

Apply your engineering expertise to help shape and deliver innovative projects within a collaborative, interdisciplinary environment, designing buildings that maximise value for our clients while supporting their journey towards Net Zero Carbon. You will play an active role throughout the entire project lifecycle, from initial feasibility studies through to completion, working across a diverse range of sectors including commercial, residential, education, energy, sport, healthcare and mixed-use developments. As part of our commitment to digital innovation, you will contribute to the ongoing transformation of our business by exploring new ways to improve efficiency through automation and leveraging our integrated digital design approach to deliver enhanced services and better outcomes for our clients.

Is this role right for you?
We are looking to speak to people who:

Working towards Chartered status through CIBSE, IET or other relevant body and degree qualified with a Masters Engineering Degree or equivalent
Experience in the Electrical Services Engineering design on a range of project types
Strong design and technical skills
Enjoys working collaboratively in multi-disciplinary design teams, contributing to projects from inception to completion.
Good planning and organisation skills
Excellent communications skills, both verbal and written
Able to demonstrate commercial awareness and starting to develop working relationships with external team members
Committed to their own professional development and looking for challenging work to develop their engineering skill.
A passion for design and an enthusiasm for architecture and sustainable building design.
Ability to demonstrate technical aptitude and experience in design analysis software.
Experience of working within a BIM environment using Revit beneficial.
Assists in training and developing younger engineers and technicians
