This role requires an experienced CDM Principal Designer with strong technical design experience and a demonstrable track record in design safety. Experience directly relating to substations, overhead lines, cabling works, water and infrastructure is favourable, but experience working on medium and large nationally important multi-disciplinary projects will also be considered.

As the CDM PD, your role will include acting as the named CDM PD representative on schemes, leading proportionate design risk management, maintaining suitable evidence of CDM compliance and mentoring junior CDM PD staff. You will help ensure that projects comply with internal and client management systems, relevant health and safety legislation and project governance arrangements. This will include undertaking design and site health and safety audits, identifying improvement actions and supporting teams to close them out effectively.

  • Prepare and manage Pre-Construction Information (PCI) packs.
  • Coordinate communication between clients, designers, contractors and other stakeholders.
  • Undertake design and site safety audits, identify improvements and share lessons learned.
