Job Title: Senior Project Planner

Location: Glasgow, Scotstoun. Hybrid, 3 days on site (depending on business needs. We offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements – please speak to your recruiter about the options for this particular role

Salary: Up to £49,000 (DOE)

Job Description:

As a Senior Project Planner you will create, maintain, and manage project and delivery schedules, ensuring effective monitoring and transparent reporting of progress across all project phases. You will translate ship design requirements into structured Level 1, Level 2, and Level 3 schedules, incorporating logic, resourcing, and budget alignment to support successful delivery.

You will work closely with Control Account Managers (CAMs) to allocate task budgets and ensure alignment of work scope costs, while maintaining compliance with governance measures and baseline management processes. You will take accountability for schedule quality and configuration, including adherence to the Baseline Change Request process.

In this role, you will provide visible, proactive support to the management team, engaging regularly “on the floor” across Engineering, Supply Chain, Build, Commissioning, and Acceptance to guide schedule performance. You will support weekly and monthly schedule reviews and play a key role in validating progress, challenging forecasts, and identifying schedule risks and opportunities.

Core duties:

  • Bring comprehensive knowledge and understanding of planning and scheduling policies, processes, procedures, and systems
  • Demonstrate professional planning and scheduling experience within a project environment
  • Be a skilled user of modern planning and scheduling tools (e.g. Primavera P6, MSP)
  • Apply excellent communication skills, with a proven background in stakeholder relationship management

Essential Skills:

  • Demonstrated project management competencies, including effective use of PM tools, processes, and recognised good practice within a project environment
  • Proven capability in scheduling tools and techniques, supported by completion of recognised planning training such as Primavera P6 or PMDY planning courses
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development, maintaining and enhancing technical planning knowledge and overall project management capability
