Job Description:
As a Senior Commercial Manager within the Integrated Combat System Team, you will lead the overall commercial strategy, senior negotiations and governance across complex, high‑value defence programmes. Acting as a trusted advisor to senior leadership, you will drive commercial excellence whilst guiding a team of experienced professionals to achieve business objectives.
You will build strong strategic relationships, navigate a complex defence environment and demonstrate commercial acumen, stakeholder alignment and people focused leadership.
Core duties:
- You will oversee the development and implementation of commercial strategies in line with business and customer objectives
- You will influence and manage multiple senior stakeholders across functional areas including external customers and partners
- You will be leading commercial negotiations, ensuring optimal contractual outcomes that balance risk, value and long term business relationships
- You will inspire, lead and mentor a team of experienced commercial professionals, whilst fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration and continuous improvement
- You will be responsible for maintaining commercial integrity through strong governance and adherence to both company and regulatory requirements
Essential Skills:
- You will need a proven track record in the management of senior commercial contracts
- You will need to have gained extensive experience negotiating and managing high value contracts and long-term partnerships
- You will hold prior demonstrated success in building, leading and motivating high performing teams
- You will be required to have a deep understanding of defence contracting frameworks
The Integrated Combat Systems Team:
Here in the team, we provide start to end service designing, procuring, producing and integrating key equipment for submarines. This is done whilst maintaining CASD through the maintenance and upgrade of combat systems, while providing Whole boat Submarine Support Services across all classes throughout the lifecycle. We offer relocation support packages across all Submarines roles, subject to meeting eligibility criteria.
