Location: Barrow (Cumbria). We offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements – however for this role you will be expected to attend your site 5 days per week.

Salary: £34,000 Per Annum + £2,000 Welcome Bonus

Role description

Working closely with Operations build teams, you will verify that systems have been installed in accordance with engineering standards and system requirements. The role involves conducting system walkdowns to ensure compliance with installation documentation, specifications and design requirements, as well as commissioning systems by proving their functionality. You will achieve safe access to systems by applying electromechanical plant isolations and dissipating stored energy, enabling maintenance and testing activities to be carried out safely. Additionally, you will author test documentation from source requirements, engineering specifications and drawings, and carry out fault-finding activities to resolve issues that arise during commissioning.

Core duties

  • Supporting the Test Section, you work for by aiding with the inspection, testing and commissioning of systems/equipment.
  • Apply key technical skills such as fault finding on an integrated system or identifying defects in equipment.
  • Highlighting non-conformance of systems/equipment and reporting clearly and concisely to the other areas of the business (i.e. Operations and Quality Control).
  • Author, Review, and complete Test Documentation in accordance with Engineering Standards, Defence Standards, Health and Safety, to enable the T&C programme.
  • Individual is expected to develop themselves with support through the commissioning curriculum and demonstrate an understanding of their knowledge by the timely completion of their T&C task book.

Qualification requirements

As a minimum requirement you must have obtained, or be predicted to obtain, a 2:2 Bachelor’s degree or a pass at Master’s level in the following subjects: Engineering or STEM related discipline
