CONTRACT TYPE: 1x Permanent & 1 x Fixed-term Contract until April 2027

LOCATION: Birmingham - Hybrid
PROPOSED SALARY RANGE: £23,000 - £25,000 depending on relevant skills, knowledge and experience. The expected salary range for this role reflects internal benchmarking and external market insights.

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

We’re looking for a detail-focused and proactive HR Administrator to join our HR Services Team within the BBC’s HR Service Centre. You’ll be responsible for handling a range of employee lifecycle requests, supporting colleagues across the business by ensuring HR transactions are processed accurately and on time.

YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND IMPACT:

• Manage a wide range of employee requests, including contract changes, flexible working, attachments , parental leave, and other case types
• Deliver accurate and timely HR transactions in line with BBC policy and service level agreements
• Use SAP and internal tools to update records, manage queues, and maintain audit trails
• Prioritise daily workloads while balancing new requests and longer-term case management
• Communicate clearly with colleagues and managers to clarify information or resolve queries
• Ensure compliance with data protection, HR policies, and internal quality standards
• Work closely with other HR teams to ensure smooth case handovers and joined-up service

YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:

• Experience in HR administration or another process-driven, customer-facing role
• Excellent attention to detail, particularly when working with high volumes of data or documentation
• Strong organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise and meet deadlines
• Comfortable using digital tools or HR systems (e.g. SAP, success factors , business work flows)
• A team player with a positive attitude and problem-solving approach
• Clear and confident communication, both written and verbal

DESIRED BUT NOT REQUIRED:

• Experience working with SAP or similar HR platforms
• Understanding of HR processes such as flexible working, pay changes, or parental leave
• Familiarity with data protection and confidentiality in a HR setting
