PROPOSED SALARY RANGE: £30,000 - £32,000 (plus London weighting). Salary dependent on relevant skills, knowledge and experience. The expected salary range for this role reflects internal benchmarking and external market insights.

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

The Assistant Content Producer exists to create engaging, high‑impact social media content that promotes BBC Studios Drama productions, particularly the weekly drama of Albert Square on EastEnders. By shooting, editing and delivering fast‑turnaround short‑form video, the Assistant Content Producer will help grow and engage audiences across key platforms. They will generate creative ideas, work closely with talent, uphold editorial standards, and contribute to larger digital commissions, ensuring our storytelling remains relevant, entertaining and audience‑focused.

YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND IMPACT

• Shoot, edit and deliver fast‑turnaround short‑form and ultra‑short‑form video content for social media platforms.
• Generate creative, audience‑focused content ideas that align with Drama productions, especially EastEnders.
• Work closely with on‑screen talent and production teams to capture high‑quality, engaging material.
• Ensure all output meets BBC editorial standards while balancing informative and entertaining storytelling.
• Contribute to larger digital commissions and collaborative projects, such as EastEnders.

YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCES

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:

• Demonstrable ability to plan, capture and edit engaging video tailored specifically for digital audiences, showcasing an understanding of platform‑specific formats and trends.

• Evidence of proficient hands‑on experience using Adobe Premiere Pro and Photoshop, alongside practical proficiency operating Sony FX3/FX6 cameras in fast‑paced production environments.

• Ability to collaborate professionally with on‑screen contributors, helping them feel comfortable while capturing compelling, authentic content.

• Strong understanding of each platform’s audiences, best‑performing content types, analytics, and emerging trends to maximise reach and engagement.

• Experience creating video output for short‑form and ultra‑short‑form mediums

• A keen interest and knowledge in Drama, especially EastEnders
