PROPOSED SALARY RANGE: £30,000 – £40,000 depending on relevant skills, knowledge and experience. The expected salary range for this role reflects internal benchmarking and external market insights.

JOB PURPOSE

We are looking for a Personal Assistant to join our team to provide diary and planning support for the Head of Channel Management and the General Manager, BBC iPlayer. This is an opportunity for someone with a passion for our brand, content and services to work within our scheduling and editorial teams to support the needs of the department

WHY JOIN THE TEAM

This is an exciting opportunity to join the BBC Channels and iPlayer team that is part of the BBC’s Content Division led by Kate Phillips. The team is focused on the strategy, planning and scheduling of the BBC’s linear TV channels as well as its streaming service, BBC iPlayer and works closely with a number of BBC departments spanning commissioning, marketing, product and distribution.

YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND IMPACT:

  • Diary management
  • Arranging meetings including booking meeting rooms within a complex, large office environment
  • Event organisation – mostly large off-site staff meetings
  • Arranging travel and accommodation
  • Other admin tasks as and when required

YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:

  • Previous experience as a Personal Assistant or similar role to senior level managers is required
  • You must be a strong team player, a strong verbal and written communicator and be willing to involve yourself in the range of administrative needs of the department.
  • Ability to use own initiative; be proactive and manage own time and workload. Experience of organising multiple diaries, working to multiple people and balancing individual priorities.
  • High attention to detail
  • Experience of organising events including large staff meetings (eg locating suitable venue, liaising with event participants, managing the agenda, collating presentations, organising refreshments, attendee lists etc)

DESIRED BUT NOT REQUIRED:

  • We expect PAs to work well within the team but also be good at building relationships with many other senior stakeholders and contributors from across the BBC and externally.
  • Evidence of ability to develop strong working relationships with stakeholders at all levels of the organisation and externally.
