We’re seeking a future team member for the role of Specialist, Client Processing to join our Markets Operations EMEA FIEQ team. This role is located in Manchester, UK.
In this role, you’ll make an impact in the following ways:
- Responsible for the day-to-day participation of workflow responsibilities within the team.
- Act as first point of escalation and escalate through the chain as appropriate.
- Express the ability to understand risks in daily work and strive to minimize the risk at all times.
- Timely completion of all mandatory compliance testing.
- Demonstrate awareness of the regulatory environment.
- Demonstrate an understanding of data classification.
- Demonstrate awareness of critical functions and recovery processes.
- May be responsible for specific review and approval actions.
- Help develop and contribute to the achievement of team objectives.
- Participate in team projects providing support where necessary.
- Demonstrate an appetite to learn AI solutions and work with the Digital Transformation team to help implement AI enhancements.
- Fixed Income/ BTS/STIRT Support: The role holder will provide operational support for three trading desks.
- BNY Fixed Income London Branch (FILB) is a registered broker dealer offering a fixed income trading service to its clients. The desk trades in worldwide markets across several settlement locations and platforms.
- Buy Side Trading Solutions (BTS) is an outsourced trading desk offering fixed income and equity trading to its clients. The desk trades in worldwide markets across several settlement locations and platforms.
- Short Term Interest Rate Trading (STIRT) – a UK based desk trading a variety of interest rate/fx currency based derivative products.
FILB and BTS
The FILB/BTS Operations associate is responsible for supporting the businesses in all day-to-day middle office functions, looking at all post trade activity until settlement: Trade life cycle management, trade amendments, allocations, risk management, system reconciliation, confirmations, account opening, cash management and regulatory obligations.
The overall objective of the position is to ensure that the daily workflow tasks for the team are completed in a timely, efficient and accurate manner, supporting the confirmation process, maintenance of relevant static data in back office systems, resolve any settlement issues by liaising with management, trading and counterparties, managing queries from both internal and external sources in a competent, efficient and timely manner.
STIRT Trade Support
This role serves as a central liaison to the front office and is responsible for the support of day to day trading activities, life cycle events, portfolio/cashflow reconciliation, project management, and ad hoc requests from desk. The team supports many different product types which include: Equities, Derivatives (Futures/Options & OTC), FX, and Swaps (Interest Rates/ FX Currency/Total Return). The incumbent must possess a strong Risk and Control mindset to drive change and automation across process, procedure, controls, and IT architecture.
To be successful in this role, we’re seeking the following:
- Bachelor’s degree or the equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
- 1 – 3 years of experience in at least one of the following areas:
- Data processing and verification, reconciliations, financial services, banking, settlements experience.
- Cash management, interest rate knowledge, corporate actions, securities product knowledge.
- Analytical skills, building networks, excellent communication skills, ability to communicate with colleagues at all levels, concern for impact, strong attention to detail, organization and prioritization skills.
