About the role:
The Technology Portfolio & Adoption (TP&A) Analyst is supporting the overall alignment of the delivery squads that support their business area with the strategic goals and tactical priorities of the business via roadmaps. The TP&A Analyst needs to understand the overall strategic direction and tactical priorities for the business, working with the squad leads, to assure progress and prioritise within the roadmap's portfolio, and with other cross roadmap activities. They support performance management across the squads within the portfolio.
Key Accountabilities:
- Roadmap & Portfolio Management:
Support the coordination of the Technology portfolio backlog to align with existing technology roadmaps and business goals. Assist in gathering input and helping prioritise initiatives based on business needs, available resources, and roadmap timelines. Help track portfolio progress using defined KPIs and contribute to reporting updates for leadership. Participate in portfolio prioritisation discussions and provide administrative support. Encourage technology adoption and help monitor delivery of value to the business. Help escalate unresolved issues from Squad Leads / Unit Leads to senior team members. Contribute to governance activities and help assess initiatives based on value, risk, and urgency.
- Strategy, Financial and Commercial acumen:
Business Alignment: Develop an understanding of how technology contributes to business strategy. Support budget planning activities by providing input and helping with coordination. Assist in tracking value across the portfolio using established frameworks and tools.
- Compliance and Standards:
Help ensure team activities comply with relevant standards, regulations, and best practices, especially around security, quality, and reliability.
- Stakeholder management:
Work with business teams to support roadmap updates, portfolio planning, and KPI definition. Collaborate across Portfolio team to maintain consistent ways of working. Build relationships across Technology, Procurement, and Ventures to support technology engagement activities.
Skills & Experience
- Stakeholder management:
- Basic understanding of the Oil & Gas industry and its key processes; exposure to the 4 chokes is a plus.
- Experience supporting technology portfolio activities such as tracking milestones, monitoring progress, and helping with resource coordination; familiar with portfolio tools.
- Ability to assist in maintaining technology roadmaps and ensuring they align with broader strategic goals.
- General awareness of digital and physical technologies used in the industry.
- Strong facilitation and collaboration skills; able to bring teams together and support discussions toward shared outcomes.
- Clear and effective communicator; able to build relationships and contribute to team efforts through influence and cooperation.
- Exposure to budgeting processes and commercial planning; able to support financial tracking and reporting.
- Interest in innovation and a track record of contributing to successful project delivery.
- Familiarity with modern delivery and collaboration methods (e.g. Agile, Scrum, Kanban).
- Basic understanding of technology readiness levels and how they apply to project development.
- Solid problem-solving skills and ability to support decision-making processes
