Our PAS Mobility practice provides services to manage the cost and risks involved in HR plans, programs and systems related to a global workforce. We advise the part of business strategy related to people.
As a Senior Manager in Global Equity Tax Services, you will oversee complex global equity and mobility tax projects, guiding clients through the design and administration of equity‑based compensation programs across jurisdictions. You will provide clear counsel on equity benefits, manage cross‑border tax implications for employers and employees, and leverage technology to automate and enhance equity and tax processes—optimizing outcomes while reducing cost, risk, and operational friction.
- Lead advisory on tax structuring, timing, and equity compensation deductions during corporate events (acquisitions, spin‑offs, IPOs).
- Deliver global tax due diligence and ensure equity plans align with local legal, securities, labor, and tax requirements.
- Translate complex tax technical content into actionable guidance, enabling efficient, compliant equity delivery in foreign countries.
Your key responsibilities
With the Global Equity team, you’ll join a talented group of professionals that provide small, mid-size and large clients with compliance and advisory services on tax implications related to global share incentive programs. Our capabilities include complex cross border tax calculations covering various share incentive vehicles, global equity tax and payroll advisory services, process improvements and design related services with regards to global share incentive programs, and large global due diligence projects involving various countries and applicable tax implications for these programs.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Successful delivery of large-scale global equity tax projects: technical excellence and practical/business driven approach to solving complex client challenges
- Oversee technological implementations of our proprietary solutions to deliver value to our clients
- Generate revenue through identifying follow-on engagement opportunities and developing lasting relationships with clients; identify potential risks and opportunities to improve processes and acquire new business; contribute to business development and client pursuit activities
- Lead workstreams from planning to implementation to expansion of services– managing resources and budgets effectively
- Grow your technical skillset to continue to stay curious, engaged and focused on global equity matters and how we can continue to evolve our services and the ways we deliver our services
- Manage, coach, and develop junior resources and peers, focusing on their technical and client service skills to develop their career
- Serve as a strong EY brand ambassador to drive exceptional relationship, revenue expansion and marketing opportunities
- You will lead engagement delivery end‑to‑end—managing client relationships daily, directing multi‑disciplinary teams, and owning program and project management across planning, execution, and closure. You will be accountable for engagement economics, resource planning, budget management, and quality/risk oversight, while identifying sales opportunities and collaborating with PPMD on RFPs.
- Exercise judgment to select methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria to achieve results.
- Develop solutions to complex problems and recommend policy or procedural changes affecting your area.
- Establish procedures that improve efficiency, quality, and risk management in equity and tax processes.

- Recommend procedural and policy enhancements to raise quality and mitigate risk.
To qualify for the role, you must have
- Bachelor’s degree required (4‑year degree); master’s degree preferred; MST, MAcc or JD/LLM preferred
- Typically, no less than 5–7 years relevant experience in expatriate tax: Big 4, global management consultancy firm, niche consultancy or in-house role with exposure to large-scale projects
- US Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license, active state bar membership or be an active Enrolled Agent
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills; ability to confidently influence colleagues and clients
- Analytical approach to tax; ability to convert complex data into meaningful strategic insights
- Expertise in financial accounting concepts.
- Mastery of tax compliance and reporting requirements.
- Experience with cross‑border share‑based incentive schemes.
- Understanding compensation, benefits, and rewards strategy.
- Proficiency in global tax due diligence.
- Ability to support client audits.
- Knowledge of cross‑border assignment planning.
- Operate with a global mindset.
Ideally, you’ll also have
- Global accounting or payroll experience
- IT background - implementation focus and effective roll out of implementation plans
- Experience leading client engagements with daily interaction.
- Ownership of engagement economics and budgets.
- Track record of identifying sales opportunities.
- Ability to provide direction/feedback to teams.

- We offer a comprehensive compensation and benefits package where you’ll be rewarded based on your performance and recognized for the value you bring to the business. The base salary range for this job in all geographic locations in the US is $128,100 to $292,500. The base salary range for New York City Metro Area, Washington State and California (excluding Sacramento) is $153,700 to $332,400. Individual salaries within those ranges are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills and geography. In addition, our Total Rewards package includes medical and dental coverage, pension and 401(k) plans, and a wide range of paid time off options.
- Join us in our team-led and leader-enabled hybrid model. Our expectation is for most people in external, client serving roles to work together in person 60% of the time over the course of an engagement, project or year.
