Job Description Summary

The Technical Controller is considered a subject matter expert in USGAAP/GEHC accounting policies and technical accounting matters, and will provide technical accounting oversight, guidance and training to finance and non-finance functions across the International region. The International Region is one of 3 Regions in GE Healthcare and is $7B in revenue across 70+ countries. The International Region has 7 Zones to support and the diverse nature of the geographies gives a rich breath of matter to manage to help the company manage risk and grow compliantly.

The role includes support for transactions and processes occurring both regularly and on an ad hoc basis, including, but not limited to:
• Accounting insights to annual, quarterly and monthly reporting
• Advice on large deals, NPIs and financing transaction
• Input on accounting policy updates and implementations
• Other ad hoc support as needed

Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Serve as technical accounting expert providing timely and accurate support and guidance for the zone, country and functional commercial, operational and shared service teams, including research, evaluation, and resolution of technical accounting issues, liaising with Global and Segment Finance and Accounting

  • Ensure that the business is compliant with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) as laid down in GEHC GAPs, applicable laws and regulations and any applicable internal and external regulatory and compliance guidance

  • Ensure full compliance with order, revenue and cost recognition standards throughout the lifecycle of product delivery, servicing and decommissioning including all required internal documentation and process requirements

  • Support Global policy reviews and changes as required, including information gathering, review and assessment

  • Support transformation and lean initiatives as they affect technical accounting

  • Assist in the quarterly review of results as part of the FRP process for all International regions

  • Assist in the quarterly risk review as part of the SLT risk management processes

  • Assist in the management of the Rep Letter process and Significant Accounting Matter monitoring process, including any supporting documentation required

  • Provide support to Deloitte in their review of USGAAP audited financial statements

  • Provide support to local auditors as needed

Qualifications

  • Qualified Accountant with significant accounting or financial experience

  • Proven experience in Technical Controllership for a large multi-national reporting under USGAAP and able to apply the guidance in a practical and pragmatic way

  • Strong understanding of the operational realities associated with a global manufacturer of technologically complex goods and services
