In the role of Senior Counsel, Global Supply Chain (Supply Chain Transactions, Disputes and External Manufacturing), you will provide legal support across the pharma and vaccines business on supply chain aspects of business development transactions, managing disputes with Contract Manufacturing Organizations (“CMOs”) and strategic partners as well as acting as business partner for the external manufacturing organization.
The role involves general legal support to the External Manufacturing organization, including contract negotiation with CMOs, support to the Third-Party Sales team, disputes and issues management. The role also involves directly supporting all aspects of business development transactions related to Global Supply Chain, including due diligence, drafting and reviewing manufacturing and supply agreements and other transaction documents, updating business stakeholders and handling the escalation of issues within Legal and Compliance and the business.
You will collaborate closely with other members of the Legal Contracting Network (“LCN”), the Disputes Resolution & Prevention (“DRP”) team, and the Global Supply Chain team. Strategic-level thinking is essential, as is good judgment, ability to collaborate with and influence senior stakeholders and other legal colleagues, and a strong work ethic. You must be energized by working in a dynamic environment and in a matrix-fashion to develop solutions to complex business needs.
Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Advising senior business leaders and legal colleagues on complex legal issues, including external manufacturing contracts, strategy and dispute resolution and all supply chain-related aspects of business development transactions.
Navigating complexity to deliver best solutions in transactions, complex contracts negotiation and litigation.
Accountability for providing efficient and effective support to the Supply Chain Business Development and External Manufacturing Teams, through a combination of support from yourself, external counsel, DRP and LCN.
Keeping aware of external environment and how it impacts GSKs organizational preparedness and offering suggestions as appropriate.
Partnering and managing the relationship with other senior lawyers to implement and share best practices across the legal function and with business stakeholders.
Proactively using excellent matrix skills to ensure consistency and alignment in counselling. Must be self-motivated from project start to finish, with the ability to proactively offer solutions, and independently identify areas of opportunity.

Business travel requirements: 20%-30%
Primary location: GSK HQ or any UK GSK strategic manufacturing site
Secondary location: Belgium (Wavre) or any EU GSK strategic manufacturing site

Exhibit knowledge of the medicines and vaccines in the GSK pipeline and the company priorities and be able to link the work being done in your team to the pipeline.

Actively seek to develop relationships within Legal and Compliance team members and actively collaborate at a peer level to identify opportunities.

Exhibit proficiency in terms of usage of GSK systems and data.

Fluency in English, both verbally and in writing, with excellent communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus
Substantial post-qualification experience.
Knowledge of the pharmaceutical manufacturing area, including regulations and compliance requirements.
Strong influencing and leadership skills.
Ability to work autonomously, managing projects from start to finish with minimal supervision.
Experience in negotiation of contracts and litigation.
Proficiency in using relevant Tech systems and data management tools.

Location and Hybrid Working Model
This role is based at our central London HQ and follows a hybrid working model. You will be expected to work onsite regularly, typically 2/3 days per week.
