Controls Framework Manager

£553.46 per day (umbrella)

Contract until End of Year

HSBC Innovation Bank is currently searching for a Controls Framework Manager to join their team in London. Within this role you will be responsible for developing and embedding first line risk and control frameworks and procedures to supporting the entire HINV business.

You will work collaboratively across HINV with stakeholders from multiple functions, also interfacing with teams across the wider HSBC group, to deliver robust procedures and frameworks to ensure compliance with the non-financial risk framework.

Responsibilities:

  • Development and embedding of first line risk and control frameworks and procedures
  • Oversight of the logging of Internal Events and Issues within Helios.
  • Oversight of the management of Internal Events and Issues through their lifecycle to resolution.
  • Oversight of compliance with Helios data quality requirements.
  • Oversight of compliance with NFR framework governance requirements.
  • Act as the primary 1LOD point of contact for HINV into HBUK to understand updates to the NFR framework.
  • Development and ownership of 1LOD risk and control training activity.
  • Using analytical skills understand the themes within the control environment to drive insight and recommendations for control improvement.
  • Supporting the Senior Business Risk Managers by providing advice and guidance on framework/procedure requirements.
  • Ensuring a strong partnership with the 2nd LoD is in place. Driving clear accountability for risk management.

Skills / Experience Required:

  • Experience in risk management.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent related experience
  • Very strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to present complex technical issues to stakeholders
  • Good time management and attention to detail are critical to this position.
  • Good analytical, research and organizational skills.
  • Strong understanding of requisite Microsoft Office applications
  • Must be self-motivated, a team player, and be comfortable facing into senior executives, with good relationship and influencing skills.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally and move fast, while maintaining close attention to detail
  • Banking experience is not required for this role but would be beneficial.
