Whether it’s working capital, term lending, trade finance, or payments and cash management, we provide the tools and expertise businesses need to thrive. This role sits has a particular focus on Business Banking, an area which is receiving investment, with an ambition to build the most trusted and supportive bank for UK start-ups and SMEs — and we’re looking for a talented marketer to help accelerate that journey.

About You

You’ll be a proven marketer with strong commercial acumen, creativity and analytical rigour. You’ll partner closely with senior stakeholders to understand strategic priorities, translate them into clear marketing demand, and mobilise our centres of excellence to deliver high-impact activity. If you’re passionate about delivering brilliant marketing that drives measurable growth, we’d love to hear from you.

In This Role You Will

  • Partner with Business Banking to understand their commercial and strategic priorities, translating these into clear marketing requirements, strategies and plans.
  • Build trusted relationships with the Business Banking senior leadership team and colleagues across commercial and frontline teams.
  • Stay close to market trends, competitor activity, and the evolving needs of UK start-ups, small businesses and SMEs.
  • Shape the annual marketing plan, making smart investment decisions to maximise impact and value from budget.
  • Develop go-to-market strategies for new products and services, ensuring launches land with pace and cut-through.
  • Create clear, compelling briefs grounded in insight and data, enabling teams to deliver standout work.
  • Partner with centres of excellence (Advertising, Events, Website/Search, Comms, CRM as applicable) to oversee delivery and performance.
  • Ensure campaigns are customer-led, compliant, delivered on time and on budget, and supported by the right business and marketing stakeholders.
  • Help shape the direction of the HSBC Small Business Growth Programme and other key marketing opportunities such as our Brokers Community

To Be Successful In This Role You Should Have

  • Proven marketing experience (B2B experience preferred but not essential)
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across teams.
  • Commercial mindset and confidence working with business priorities, performance metrics and outcomes.
  • Experience working at pace in a cross-functional environment, with a collaborative and flexible style.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, including engagement with senior leaders.
  • Leadership qualities — able to motivate, align and mobilise teams across functions towards shared goals.

This is a hybrid role and can be based from London or Birmingham.
