We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Associate, Global Network Banking (CHINA DESK)
Global Network Banking (GNB) is a principal point of contact for HSBC’s largest clients and responsible for building trusted relationships and delivering bespoke services across the full suite of products in the local market. Global Network Banking uses HSBC’s platform of banking solutions and unrivalled network of Relationship Managers and product specialists to meet the needs of clients.
For this role there is a considerable element of working with clients based in China.

In This Role You’ll
- Support HSBC Relationship Bankers on a mix portfolio that include China clients and develop an understanding of the portfolio internal return hurdles and identifying opportunities to reduce Risk Weighted Assets
- Identify origination opportunities by undertaking the appropriate analysis and preparation of proposals, presentations and pitches for new products and services
- Collaborate with colleagues across product, client service and in-country to establishing strong relationships with the portfolio
- Conduct thorough financial analysis to assess client potential including to assess their credit strengths and weaknesses
- Keeping up to date with the markets and the sector developments to support business development, portfolio management and credit risk assessment
- Execute deals and pipeline transactions in the relevant systems to ensure that the transaction data and status are accurately reflected
- Adhere to the banks policies, procedures, practices and standards, taking responsibility for your actions, to ensure the achievement of high levels of quality, effective risk management and regulatory compliance
- Good knowledge of Global Banking & Markets coverage products and services and the client base it serves.
- Have a strong qualitative and quantitative analysis capability and used to working with complex financial data
- High level of commercial awareness to be able to conduct research work with various sources of information to produce reports and presentations
- Possess very good stakeholder management skills, coupled with a professional confidence that engender the view of a ‘Trusted Partner’ across a varied internal and external audience
- Demonstrate really good time management, planning and organisational skills with the ability to managing multiple tasks often with conflicting priorities
- Highly level of Mandarin language proficiency
