Your Role at IBM
We are looking for someone to join our team as a Project Manager. You will be working 4 days a week at IBM and studying 1 day a week at university for an IT Management for Business graduate (degree) apprenticeship.
Starting in our Project Management Office team, you will build your skills with the following responsibilities:
- Project planning and coordination (developing & maintaining project plans, schedules & resource allocation to ensure successful project delivery.)
- Developing and managing project budgets, including tracking expenses and forecasting costs.
- Analysing and reporting on project financial performance, including tracking revenue, expenses, and gross profit.
- Data Analysis and Reporting (developing and maintaining project dashboards and reports to track progress, identify trends, and inform decision-making.)
- Developing and maintaining relationships with stakeholders, including clients, team members, and external partners.
- Coordinating and managing project documentation (including project charters, scope statements, and status reports.)
- Risk and Issue Management (identifying and mitigating project risks, issues, and dependencies to minimise impact on project timelines and budgets.)
- Administrative, Meeting and Event Support (including scheduling meetings, preparing agendas, taking minutes & facilitating project meetings, workshops and retrospectives.).
- Coordination with procurement teams to ensure timely and cost-effective procurement of project resources and materials.
- Assistance in developing and maintaining commercial relationships with external partners and suppliers.
- Knowledge Management (assisting in maintaining project knowledge and lessons learned to ensure continuous improvement and best practice sharing.
- Identifying opportunities for process improvements.
Your Apprenticeship
As an IT Management for Business graduate (degree) apprentice, you can build a career with valuable business and IT skills. You'll develop experience and knowledge in project management, problem-solving and business operations. You will develop your skills in:
Technology, business, software project & delivery management; personal & interpersonal skills.
There's an opportunity to experience University life and meet apprentices from other organisations during days at university and interactive learning sessions.
On an IBM Apprenticeship programme, you will be working in an innovative, creative and exciting working environment. Our Apprentices span across different business units and there are so many opportunities for you to get involved in both inside and outside of your role. We encourage all our early professionals to take the opportunity to participate in networking, mentoring, learning and give back. You will also have two managers. A task manager who works with you on your role and an early professional manager who helps you get the most out of your Apprenticeship and provides support along the way.

- All our apprenticeships are office based (if not on a client site) a minimum of 3 days a week, these are NOT remote roles. You need to live within commutable distance to our IBM Glasgow location.
- You will need to be mobile as all our apprenticeship roles will be client focused, and you may find yourself working at client sites or other IBM locations which could require extensive travel and staying away from home during the week.

- You must be authorised to work in the UK without sponsorship.
- Maths & English Scottish National 5 grade C or above or equivalent. (We may request a certificate of equivalency, which will be your responsibility to provide.)
- Achieved/ predicted a minimum of four SQA Highers at Grade BBBB.
- If your grades are predicted, you will need to provide us with evidence of your grades on results day.
- You cannot have already started or completed an apprenticeship or university course in a similar area.
You don't need to be studying technology, computer science or STEM subjects but you must have a keen interest and passion in technology. We’re seeking talented individual who are curious about Tech.
Start dates for 2026
We are looking for Apprentices who will start on 7th September 2026, followed by an IBM and university induction – please note we cannot make any exceptions to this start date.
