We are seeking interns to join a busy, innovative, and outcome‑focused Marketing team driving IBM’s digital and physical marketing‑led campaigns across the UK and Ireland. Based in our York Road office in London, you’ll collaborate with colleagues in the UK & Europe, blending creativity with analytics to deliver standout customer experiences and measure real business impact. This 12‑month placement is perfect for motivated, curious, tech‑savvy students who want real responsibility, real impact and real development, contributing to marketing projects and seeing how a global organisation operates.
What you’ll do
You’ll support the planning and execution of a broad range of marketing activities and events—both in‑person and, when appropriate, digital—while learning the tools and tactics top teams use to perform at scale. On any given week, you might be:
- Assisting with the coordination and delivery of proprietary and third‑party events, providing on‑site support, and helping with post‑event follow‑ups.
- Getting hands‑on with platforms like Rainfocus (event process hub), Seismic, and w3 publisher, and maintaining the online event calendar.
- Analysing and tracking event and pipeline performance using online tools to access data; your Excel skills (including pivot tables) will be very helpful for turning data into insights.
- Sharing weekly updates in the UKI Event Execution Management System and keeping our online event community hub current.
- Scheduling team calls, organising content, and coordinating other IT resources to power IBM’s large events.
- Taking responsibility for the marketing storeroom—upkeeping the online portal and booking system for marketing‑owned assets and managing shipments and returns.

What you’ll bring

You have proven proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint, and you’re good with data—able to analyse and manipulate it to extract meaningful insights.
Two role pathways
Event Intern:
You’ll focus on event planning and execution for in‑person and digital experiences, provide on‑site support, manage event tools and calendars, and help drive post‑event actions that turn engagement into outcomes.
Field Marketing Intern:
You’ll support a broad range of field marketing activities, track pipeline and event performance, provide weekly system updates, manage the event community hub, and help lead other ITs in support of IBM’s large events—while overseeing our marketing asset operations.
Impact, learning, and collaboration
You’ll work with supportive teams, gain hands‑on experience with leading marketing and event tech, and see the tangible impact of your work—right from IBM’s York Road office in London.You'll also join our Early Professional Community - known for being supportive, social, and collaborative. Occasional travel may be required for events or projects.

This is an undergraduate position and as such, you should meet the following criteria:
- Studying at a UK University
- Completing an undergraduate degree and on track for a 2:1 (minimum)
- Due to graduate in 2028 - you must return to university to complete your final year after placement.
- Live within a commutable distance of your base location (London) as you will be required on site.
- Eligible to work in the UK full time for the duration of your internship (no visa sponsorship available)
