This internship sits within IBM’s Technology Sales organisation. You’re not here to develop software—you’re here to sell technology, support sales teams, and help us show clients why IBM is the right choice. What you’ll do

As a Technology Sales Intern at IBM, you’ll:

  • work with major enterprise clients
  • get exposure to senior leaders
  • help build demos and value stories
  • contribute to real sales plays
  • and see firsthand how IBM technology wins deals

  • Larger Enterprise Accounts

  • Sales enablement, Operations & seller productivity
  • Brand Specific Teams e.g. Data & AI and Automation
  • or strategic teams in the UKI General Manager’s Office or UKI Chairman’s Office

Why this role matters

You'll be involved in key actions across the sales organisations, making a direct impact by:

  • Qualifying leads and spotting opportunities where IBM tech can solve real business problems
  • Helping sellers prepare for client engagements with research, insights, and value focused materials
  • Supporting product demos, prepping client presentations, and helping simplify technical concepts
  • Assisting customer success teams as they guide clients through onboarding and adoption
  • Supporting partner teams with enablement, co selling resources, and go to market activities
  • Helping sales operations with dashboards, tools, seller resources, and productivity improvements
  • Contributing to sales plays and go to market campaigns across the Cloud, Data & AI portfolio
  • Supporting senior leaders on strategic projects, briefings, or executive level client work
  • Collaborating across sales, technical specialists, marketing, customer success, partners and more

What you’ll bring

You communicate clearly—tailoring messages to your audience—and you’re organised, collaborative, and accountable. You’re proactive, comfortable troubleshooting, and you use your initiative to move work forward. You sweat the details and back your ideas with data. You have proven proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint, and you’re good with data—able to analyse and manipulate it to extract meaningful insights.

You’ll work with supportive teams, gain hands‑on experience with leading marketing and event tech, and see the tangible impact of your work—right from IBM’s York Road office in London.You'll also join our Early Professional Community - known for being supportive, social, and collaborative. Occasional travel may be required for events or projects.

Required technical and professional expertise

This is an undergraduate position and as such, you should meet the following criteria:

  • Studying at a UK University
  • Completing an undergraduate degree and on track for a 2:1 (minimum)
  • Due to graduate in 2028 - you must return to university to complete your final year after placement.
  • Live within a commutable distance of your base location (London) as you will be required on site.
  • Eligible to work in the UK full time for the duration of your internship (no visa sponsorship available)
Preferred technical and professional experience

Bonus Points If You Have

  • Exposure to cloud, software, or AI through uni projects or personal interest
  • Experience presenting, pitching, or simplifying complex ideas
  • An interest in big picture thinking and enterprise level projects
