Join a team that helps a fast-moving credit trading business make confident decisions. You will deliver accurate daily profit and loss and risk exposure reporting across products ranging from vanilla credit default swaps and bonds to complex tranched bespoke baskets. You will develop deep product and market insight through close partnership with Sales & Trading, Valuations, Market Risk, Business Management, and Technology. This role offers a strong learning curve, supported by a collaborative team that invests in your development.

As a/an Associate in EMEA Credit Trading Risk and P&L, you will produce accurate daily profit and loss and risk reporting for the European Credit Markets business. You will work with trading and finance partners to explain performance drivers, support a controlled month-end close, and maintain strong books and records. You will help improve processes and reporting tools, while ensuring adherence to relevant internal standards and external requirements. You will also gain exposure to balance sheet and capital topics through the team’s broader remit.

Job responsibilities

  • Produce accurate daily profit and loss and risk exposure reporting for the trading desk.
  • Explain reported results by linking trading revenues to desk strategies and market conditions.
  • Apply strong product and calculation understanding to validate outputs and identify anomalies.
  • Maintain the accuracy and integrity of the business’s books and records by upholding control standards.
  • Partner with Traders and Trader Assistants to investigate drivers and resolve issues promptly.
  • Collaborate with Financial Control, Valuation Control, and External Reporting to support an accurate month-end close across systems.
  • Enhance risk and profit and loss aggregators through project work and process optimization.
  • Challenge existing processes and implement improvements that reduce operational risk and increase efficiency.
  • Ensure adherence to internal policies and applicable external regulation, including antitrust requirements.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Experience working in the financial industry with exposure to accounting concepts and financial statements

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Strong time management and prioritization skills
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with high attention to detail
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain results to stakeholders
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team across functions, locations, and businesses
  • Advanced Excel and strong general computer skills

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Experience in Product Control or Financial Control
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance strongly desired
  • Project management experience or demonstrated project delivery skills
  • Experience improving reporting tools or data aggregation processes
