As an international leader in the engineering, planning, design and construction management of maritime structures, ports, harbours and coastal schemes, our 100+ strong Ports & Maritime UK team, part of a larger global 700+ team of specialist maritime engineers deliver complex world class solutions to commercial ports, bulk terminals, naval bases, breakwaters and coastal defences, dredging and reclamation, marine off-loading facilities, sea water intakes and outfalls to a global customer base.
Based out of our Glasgow office, our Ports and Maritime team have created a number of new roles, to meet, deliver and exceed our growth and investment strategy, providing excellent career opportunities for experienced ports and marine engineers to work across a broad portfolio of high value projects.
Working with innovative and world class industry experts to deliver safe and robust technical solutions, your remit will include;
- Lead multi-disciplinary project delivery, ensuring planning, coordination, and financial performance.
- Provide technical leadership and maintain quality standards across all design deliverables.
- Drive design safety leadership and promote a strong safety culture within the team.
- Mentor, develop, and support recruitment to build a high-performing engineering team.
- Engage with clients and stakeholders to ensure effective communication and project success.
- Contribute to strategic positioning and business growth within the ports and maritime sector.
- Chartered Civil/Structural Engineer
- You will hold an accredited minimum level 2:1 MEng or BEng degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (or equivalent)
- Significant experience of design of maritime structures
- Good all-round technical design expertise using British and international standards, and/or Eurocodes
- Good understanding of structural theory and strong analytical skills, with proven problem-solving ability
- Excellent verbal and written communication, and report writing skills
- Proven ability to work as part of a team, liaising directly with clients and other design team members
- Proven track record of delivery of maritime projects and an ability to work effectively within a multi-disciplinary team
