About the opportunity
The Jacobs Cities & Places (C&P) team create thriving places - from regions, cities, neighbourhoods and communities through to individual buildings and all through an integrated design approach. We have a tremendous opportunity in front of us to build upon our strengths and develop an interdisciplinary planning, design and delivery practice that is uniquely Jacobs, that sets the direction for the industry and is home to the very best and brightest design thinkers, disruptors, technical experts, visionaries and storytellers.
As a Project Controller apprentice, you’ll have the opportunity to get involved in:
- Learning key Project Control methodologies (for example, Earned Value Analysis (EVA), S-Curve analysis, and Critical Path Method (CPM) scheduling) to meet project objectives and address project constraints and risks
- Providing Project Management teams with scheduling and cost control support
- Preparing Internal and Client-specific monthly dashboard reports
- Developing project schedules in industry standard software
- Ensuring high-quality, timely invoicing on projects
- Enhancing project planning and scheduling capacities across the business
- Recording and communicating divergences from baselines to the Project Management team
As a new apprentice in our Project Delivery Services team, you'll have the support of a mentor and your team to oversee and guide your development. This apprenticeship is the first step towards a permanent role within Jacobs. Upon successful completion, you will move into our established career framework, with clear opportunities to continue developing and progressing your career.
- At least 120 UCAS tariff points, including grade B in A-level Mathematics, maths-related subject, or equivalent
- A keen interest in project controls and management
- Strong communication skills and attention to detail
- A flexible and proactive self-starter who’s passionate about developing new skills
- The ability to adapt and prioritise whilst juggling work and study priorities
- Enthusiasm and curiosity to apply your skills to solve real-world problems
- Empathy and listening skills to help you truly understand our clients’ requirements
- A well-rounded person – worked in a bar? Been captain of a sports team or volunteered for a charity? Tell us – we’re looking for people with interesting stories and experiences!
- You must have the permanent right to work in the UK
