Working collaboratively with Hertfordshire County Council (HCC) and its supply chain, Jacobs provides excellent service to the community and supports local infrastructure.
We currently have got a 9 Months Maternity opening for a new team member who will join our Utilities team and coordinates the flow of utility information to support planned works for Hertfordshire County Council.
The position involves managing high volumes of incoming and outgoing data, communicating with internal teams and external utility providers, and maintaining accurate records in line with defined processes and deadlines. Full training will be provided on internal systems and LineSearch.
What You’ll Do
Coordinate information requests between HCC, authorised agents, and multiple utility providers (e.g., Affinity Water, Anglian Water, Virgin Media, Thames Water).
Receive, review, log, and route incoming information; ensure accurate and timely responses to the correct contacts.
Update spreadsheets and internal systems; extract key details and compile basic statistics for distribution.
Maintain and amend stakeholder contact lists used throughout the process.
Enter and maintain data in LineSearch and other internal platforms (training provided).
Follow established procedures and work to defined timeframes; keep complete records of communications and documentation.
Communicate professionally via email and phone with all stakeholders and provide regular updates to internal teams.
- Strong organisation and coordination capability with high attention to detail.
- Confident handling data and using spreadsheets (e.g., Excel or similar).
- Clear written and verbal communication skills for stakeholder interactions.
- Ability to follow structured processes and meet deadlines in a high‑volume environment.
- Comfortable working remotely and managing tasks independently.
- Experience in coordination, administration, project support, or information management is beneficial but not essential (training provided).

Fixed-term 9‑month maternity cover.
Hybrid role with limited onsite time for initial training.
