We design some of the most complex and specialized facilities being constructed today. This challenging position involves working as part of a multi-discipline, highly interactive and coordinated team focused on projects including semiconductor manufacturing, data centre facilities, and other state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities. The ideal candidate will be a self-motivated individual with excellent communication skills. They will exhibit a passion and desire to apply their professional experience and knowledge in a team environment on technically challenging and professionally rewarding projects.

We're looking for an Instrument and Controls Engineer who is excited about working on projects that enable the heart of our clients’ business. Join us and you’ll have the chance to work on projects focused on designing state-of-the-art structures within Advanced Facilities. Come and be a part of a vibrant, dynamic team that delivers world-class designs for well-known clients around the world. You’ll be accountable for developing Piping & Instrument Diagrams (P&ID) following ANSI/ISA S5.1 symbology, and panel design including panel layout and wiring diagrams, you’ll also manage demanding schedules, prepare accurate reports, and demonstrate communication skills.

Here's what you'll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in an engineering subject
  • At Least 8 years of I&C design experience
  • Experience using Revit or AutoCAD
  • Able to Navigate Navisworks

Ideally, you’ll also have:

  • Working knowledge of PLC, DCS, and other controls applications.
  • Piping & Instrument Diagram Development (P&ID) including ANSI/ISA S5.1 symbology.
  • Knowledge of control systems architecture development, network security systems, motor control and power distribution systems.
  • Interpret varied instrumentation and engineering diagrams, specifications and schematics.
  • Control panel design. Knowledge of UL508A requirements for industrial control panels.
  • Knowledge of instrumentation including temperature, pressure, flow, and analytical instrumentation. Understand the principles of operations, terminology, safety considerations and applications for common analytical instruments.
  • Knowledge of control valves including valve sizing.
  • Experience with Revit, BIM360, Navisworks, and AutoCAD.
  • Strong communication skills both verbal and written
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Forward thinking, eager to learn best practices, and contribute with innovative ideas
  • Ability to learn quickly and driven to broaden knowledge base
  • Ability to collaborate and work effectively in a variety of teams, including multi-disciplinary teams
  • Passion for buildings and construction
