We are currently seeking an Assistant Design Manager to support the delivery of multidisciplinary engineering and infrastructure projects within the energy and power sector. This role provides design coordination, technical oversight and documentation management while working closely with senior Design Managers, engineering teams and Clients.
Key responsibilities:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including electrical, civil, and mechanical engineers, to achieve high-quality and integrated design solutions.
- Support the management of the design process using commercial, contractual, time and technical awareness.
- Ensure design information is of the appropriate quality and delivered to meet project programme requirements.
- Ensure the design process complies with relevant legislation, standards and industry codes of practice.
- Support preparation and review of technical drawings, design models, calculations and documentation.
- Maintain and update design documentation, including revisions and approvals.
- Assist in risk reduction by ensuring health and safety considerations are embedded into designs.
- Support internal and external design reviews and coordination meetings.
- Assist in client communication, helping present design proposals and progress updates.
- HND/HNC/Degree in Electrical Engineering or another relevant engineering discipline.
- Member of a relevant professional body (e.g., ICE, IMechE) is desirable.
- Some prior experience in design management or technical engineering design within relevant sectors.
- Strong understanding of engineering standards and regulatory requirements in the energy sector.
- Experience contributing to multi-disciplinary engineering projects.
- Excellent communication and documentation abilities.
