We are currently seeking an experienced consultant to expand our team to help deliver continued growth in our services and greater value to our client’s requirements. The role will provide leadership of project teams delivering our services and provide wider support enabling the growth and development of our team. A key element of this is being at the forefront of dynamic change, in terms of regulatory changes, best practice and guidance, technological development and translating this into real world solutions for the client.
The successful candidate will have a focus on energy management, efficiency and net-zero delivery. Along with experience with Energy Savings Opportunity Scheme (ESOS) and will take ownership of the ESOS compliance process, ensuring that all client audits meet the regulatory standards set out under the ESOS. You will act as the technical authority for ESOS within the organisation, guiding clients and internal teams through every stage of compliance while upholding the highest standards of audit quality, evidence gathering, and regulatory interpretation.
The successful candidate will be able to work collaboratively with our operations and sales teams to provide clients with focus and support, innovative solutions to our clients’ most challenging problems, connect and nurture our technical resources.
The Role
In your role, you’ll be a key team member in a variety of project roles to ensure delivery of successful outcomes for our clients.
Key responsibilities include:
- Lead projects/programmes and accountable for key tasks and quality data outputs through project reviewer role.
- Leading and managing ESOS compliance programmes as Lead ESOS Assessor and technical authority. Energy management, asset reviews and audit surveys, energy demand modelling and preparing low carbon energy solutions that are either led by reconfiguring existing operations at sites or developing new strategies.
You need to enjoy working in a dynamic team environment and where necessary using your expertise to guide other members of staff. You’ll also require the ability to lead bid preparation, deliver to tight timescales, be technically accurate and to manage several schemes simultaneously, either as the lead or as part of a team. Strong verbal and written communication skills, and excellent quantitative and problem-solving skills are essential as part of this role.
Jacobs has a strong ethos for safety in our BeyondZero approach, so you would be expected to have a positive attitude to health and safety, especially to eliminate or reduce the risk early in the design process.
Essential:
- Ability to be based in, or regularly work from, the Manchester office, with flexibility to attend client sites and Jacobs offices as required.
- An engineering degree, likely to have a focus on energy (Chemical, Mechanical, or equivalent process related degree).
- Proven experience in industrial, commercial and/public sector energy management and efficiency.
- Strong communication skills, ability to engage with colleagues and clients and provide clear, evidence-based advice verbally and within written reports and presentations.
- Capable of developing standard engineering deliverables such as technical calculations and reporting.
- Awareness of Health and Safety issues and the need for safe methods of working.
- ESOS Lead Assessor certification.
- Membership and/or demonstration of working to a chartered status of an Engineering Institution (preferable)
