As an experienced Electrical Engineer, you will play a key role in the specification, design and delivery of electrical solutions throughout the project lifecycle, from concept and detailed design through to commissioning.
You will work with a wide range of electrical assets—from analytical sensors to high-voltage motors—developing safe, innovative, and cost-effective solutions that meet and exceed client requirements and industry standards.
Remit of your role will include:
Electrical Engineering Excellence: Subject matter expert in multidisciplinary projects.
Requirement Management: Work Electrical and Industrial Control requirement development and management to deliver complex solutions that meet contract-specific KPI`s.
Innovate: Contribute to value engineering and buildability workshops, delivering innovative design solutions and processes for Water treament plant - Effluent, Waste and Clean.
Design & Specification: Develop detailed engineering specifications, designs and drawings for process engineering projects such as pumping stations, SKID systems, chemical dosing treatment plants, and distribution networks.
Quality, Safety and Governance: Ensure solutions comply with regulatory and safety standards, embedding constructability and commissioning requirements into designs.
Technical Analysis: Investigate and analyse existing assets, recommend improvements, produce complex calculations as required.
Collaborate: Support project engineers, design managers and onsite delivery teams throughout the project lifecycle.
Project Management: Contribute to design management, scheduling, milestone delivery, risk management, change control, and financial forecasting.
Team & Culture: Foster a culture of knowledge sharing, innovation, mentoring and professional growth within the electrical discipline.
Working alongside industry leaders like United Utilities, Northumbrian Water, Thames Water, Severn Trent Water, and Anglian Water, you will help set new standards for excellence for water, wastewater infrastructure and bioresources projects - your role will directly impacting our communities, creating a legacy of sustainability.
We would be delighted to hear from candidates with a real mix for the following skills and experience:
Professional Membership: Working toward or holding chartered status (e.g., IET or equivalent).
Engineering: Indepth understanding of electrical engineering principles, from concept through to commissioning and operation.
Electrical design: Equipment specification, single line diagrams, GA drawings, schematics. Proficient in AutoCAD, Revit, ETAP.
Power distribution: LV/MV distribution systems, MCCs, Switchgear, Transformers, calculations and protection studies.
Pumps & Motor control: Pumps, blowers, mixers, dosing, solids/fluids treatment systems, VSDs and inverters.
Commercial: Understanding of project budgets, change management and cost control.
