At Jacobs, we're challenging today to reinvent tomorrow by solving the world's most critical problems for thriving cities, resilient environments, mission-critical outcomes, operational advancement, scientific discovery and cutting-edge manufacturing, turning abstract ideas into realities that transform the world for good.
The Jacobs Cities & Places team create thriving places - from regions, cities, neighbourhoods & communities through to individual buildings - and the critical infrastructure and facilities that support them, all through an integrated design approach. We have a tremendous opportunity in front of us to build upon our strengths and develop an interdisciplinary planning, design and delivery practice that is uniquely Jacobs, that sets the direction for the industry and is home to the very best and brightest design thinkers, disruptors, technical experts, visionaries and storytellers.
Our business unit brings together engineers, architects, surveyors, designers, place-makers, technology experts and project managers to provide collaborative and coordinated design solutions for our clients, both domestically and internationally.
Due to our expanding portfolio and long-term expansion plan, we have an immediate need for a Principal to undertake business development and project delivery activities for our ICT and Security team, reporting directly to our Director of ICT and Security, and providing solutions for buildings and infrastructure, including in the Defence, Transportation and Critical National Infrastructure sectors.
In business development, you’ll be responsible for working with our Buildings, Infrastructure and Defence teams to offer services to our clients in those sectors, as well as building relationships with clients yourself. In delivery, as well as overseeing and producing designs for secure ICT systems, you will be responsible for advising on the security of systems to support the overall buildings and infrastructure design process, and for coordinating with other disciplines on the overall security solution for those facilities. In both roles, you’ll report to the Director of ICT and Security, and will need to be able to demonstrate leadership, professionalism and an inquisitive approach, showing a desire to explore innovative ideas while still understanding the need for a good commercial balance.
You should have considerable experience working within the Telecommunications sector ideally in Building Services or Infrastructure Engineering Design within a Consultancy, with experience in the infrastructure, CNI and Defence sectors. You will need sound working knowledge of AutoCad & Revit MEP and industry standard design software. There is a requirement to coordinate teams and mentor / coach more junior project members so being able to comfortably support the team whilst maintaining standards in work and efficiency is vital. You will be working across all RIBA stages from Feasibility to Project Handover for Construction and engaging with clients, partners and subcontractors.
