We are looking to recruit a Power System Engineer to join our Future Energy & Power Systems team, supporting the growth of our activities across all areas of the power sector, including generation (thermal, renewables & storage), transmission, distribution, and industrial systems. The role will involve modelling and carrying out a variety of power system studies for major clients worldwide. Our team is based across the UK, with offices in London, Birmingham, Leeds, Manchester, Reading, Cardiff, and Bristol.
This role forms part of a wider growth strategy to position Jacobs to meet the evolving requirements of the energy transition. As part of the team, you will lead and deliver a range of services across study projects, including but not limited to:
- Power system modelling and model verification.
- Feasibility studies, including load flow and fault level assessments.
- Determining equipment performance specifications.
- Grid Code compliance studies.
- Interconnection and impact studies.
- Producing clear and concise technical reports.
- Contributing technical input and level-of-effort estimates to proposals.
- Delivering study activities, including technical support for proposals, modelling, simulations, results analysis, and reporting.
- Collaborating closely with colleagues in the UK and globally on studies relating to transmission, distribution, renewables, and industrial systems.
- Supporting projects integrating low-carbon technologies into the network.
- Minimum of a Degree or equivalent in electrical engineering.
- Membership of a recognised professional institution /organisation - Proficient in power system modelling and analysis using DIgSILENT, PSS/E, ETAP and PSCAD software’s
- Previous work experience in power systems, utility and renewable projects.
