Our Water and Environment Operating Unit combines leading scientific and engineering expertise to advise clients on the sustainable management of the natural water environment. We’re looking for experienced Senior Project Managers to join our team across the UK and help shape the future of water sustainability.

The Opportunity

You will lead the delivery of water and environmental projects and programmes of varying scale and complexity, taking accountability for schedules, budgets, resources, and risk management. You will serve as the primary client contact, building trusted relationships and communicating effectively with all stakeholders.

Operating in a complex delivery environment, you will drive performance, encourage agile ways of working, and ensure compliance with health, safety, and welfare legislation.

What You’ll Bring

As a Senior Project Manager, you will bring immediate value through a proven ability to translate complex client requirements into successful project outcomes. Strong commercial awareness and technical understanding will enable you to lead multidisciplinary teams with confidence, delivering projects safely, on time, and within budget.

You will demonstrate strong relationship-building skills, fostering trust with clients across public and private sectors and positioning Jacobs as a valued partner. A proactive approach to risk management and change control will help protect project success while identifying opportunities for innovation and improvement.

Your leadership will support the creation of high-performing, inclusive teams where collaboration and knowledge sharing thrive. By mentoring junior team members and promoting continuous improvement, you will strengthen project management capability and contribute to a culture of excellence.

As a Senior Project Manager, you will also bring the capability to step into Project Executive roles across projects of varying scale—adding value through strategic oversight, strong stakeholder engagement, and delivery leadership at both operational and executive levels.

You will have experience managing projects under various contract forms, particularly NEC3 and NEC4, combined with sound commercial judgement, will support both successful delivery and business growth. A strong commitment to safety and quality will reinforce our reputation for delivering exceptional outcomes.

Here's what you'll need
  • Proven project management experience across a range of projects in a multidisciplinary environment (Infrastructure/ Water/ Design and Build )
  • Strong leadership experience managing teams and driving delivery performance.
  • Demonstrable expertise in project planning, risk management, budget and resource management, and contract management.
  • Degree in engineering, environmental sciences, project management, or a related discipline.
  • Project Management Qualifications : APM PMQ, Prince 2 APM ChPP, NEC ECC PM (Desirable)
