At Jacobs, we're challenging today to reinvent tomorrow by solving the world's most critical problems for thriving cities, resilient environments, mission-critical outcomes, operational advancement, scientific discovery and cutting-edge manufacturing, turning abstract ideas into realities that transform the world for good.

Your impact

This isn’t just a contracts role—it’s your chance to shape how some of the UK’s most critical transport projects are delivered.

As a Contract Assistant, you’ll be at the heart of major Rail, Highways, and Aviation programmes—helping ensure contracts are clear, risks are managed, and projects run smoothly from day one to completion.

Your work will directly influence project success—protecting value, enabling delivery, and giving project teams the confidence to move at pace. If you’re looking to translate your legal or contract knowledge into real-world impact, this is where it happens.

About the opportunity

You’ll join the Project Services Group within our Transportation team—supporting projects that span rail networks, major highways, and aviation infrastructure.

This is a hands-on, fast-paced role where you’ll:

  • Draft and review contracts across clients, suppliers, and subcontractors
  • Support risk identification and contract compliance with our Contract Management Group
  • Maintain robust commercial records and support audits
  • Work closely with project managers on live contractual issues
  • Monitor subcontractor performance, payments, and change control
  • Help ensure projects meet their contractual obligations—on time and on track

You’ll be collaborating daily with legal, commercial, and project teams—building strong relationships and becoming a trusted voice in contract delivery.

Here's what you'll need
  • Experience or background in contracts, legal, or commercial administration
  • Solid understanding of contract principles and contract administration
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage documentation accurately
  • Confidence working with multiple stakeholders across teams
  • A proactive mindset with the ability to spot risks and raise issues early
