As an established coastal engineering and project delivery focussed manager, you will join a well established and recognized international leader in the engineering, planning, design, and construction management of coastal and maritime structures, ports, harbours, and waterfront schemes. Our 100-strong Maritime UK team is part of a wider global team of more than 750 maritime specialists, delivering world-class expertise in marine design.
Our team specialises in numerical modelling, analysis and design of coastal structures including waterfront, port breakwaters and revetments, coastal defences, dredging and reclamation, and seawater intakes and outfalls. We support a wide range of major UK and international clients across the maritime, defence, water and transport sectors.
Joining Jacobs at this pivotal stage, you'll help shape our business, solutions and capability footprint, playing an integral role in delivering world-class, innovative and robust technical solutions and projects across coastal, estuarine and maritime environments. Including flood and coastal erosion risk management (FCERM) and coastal infrastructure schemes.
With a blend of Engineering, Technical and Project Management skills, in this leadership role your will be recognised as the Technical Lead, taking projects through their full lifecycle, concept, feasibility studies, engineering, design, development to construction, handover and aftermarket support.
Your remit will include;
- Lead inter-discipline and multi-office teams in the engineering, design, planning and delivery and of coastal, maritime and flood and coastal erosion risk management (FCERM) projects.
- Provide technical and professional leadership and governance, mentoring and career development support to foster the continued growth of team members.
- Oversee engineering and project resources, programme performance, design integration, construction interfaces and risk management.
- Utilise collaborative digital delivery and BIM approaches where appropriate.
- Champion the integration of safety into all design and engineering activities, promoting compliance with, and continuous improvement of, business and quality management systems.
- Support the strategic positioning of key pursuits and business opportunities to drive sustainable growth and long-term success of the business.
- Recognised as a trusted advisor and subject matter expert building partnership based client relationships with all levels of stakeholders.
We would be delighted to hear from and speak with candidates who have a real mix of the following skills, experience and attributes:
- Chartered Civil Engineer (or equivalent professional qualification).
- Demonstrable experience delivering coastal, maritime or flood and coastal erosion risk management (FCERM) infrastructure projects, including coastal defences, harbour works, waterfront developments and flood risk management schemes.
- A Proven Technical, Engineering and Project delivery track record.
- Established experience of working with clients such as the Environment Agency, local authorities, contractors or infrastructure owners.
- A sound understanding of the technical, commercial and stakeholder challenges, associated with coastal and flood risk infrastructure.
- Able to develop trusted client relationships, lead meetings and prepare high-quality technical and commercial outputs.
- Commercially astute, with significant experience of financial control, milestones, risk mitigation and change control/management.
