About us:

Linklaters is a global law firm, providing legal services in 20 countries and through 30 offices.

Linklaters is a people business. Being best in class in the eyes of our clients means that our people must be exceptional.

We look not only for brilliant minds, but for people who will thrive in our environment: people who love working collaboratively and demonstrate the innovative, efficient, agile, entrepreneurial, and responsible mind-set we aim to bring to every interaction.

Ours is an environment of outperformance. We achieve this not with targets and incentives, but by fostering a positive, supportive, fair, and open atmosphere.

We respect and value difference but insist on inclusivity. We celebrate all aspects of diversity and challenge any form of bias. This is vital to our ability to work as one team, with a common goal.

About the role:

As a Finance Process Consultant within our Process & Infrastructure team (part of Group Finance), you will provide support, advice and solutions to finance systems users across all our offices. You will act as a key point of contact on finance policies, processes and systems, helping to ensure our global finance operations run efficiently and effectively.

Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Provide day-to-day support to users of our finance systems, responding to queries and issues (including via ServiceNow) and offering clear advice on policies and processes.
  • Advise users on the use of SAP4 Hana and SAP R/3, helping to resolve system and process-related problems.
  • Maintain matter management systems and processes within and outside SAP, including matter opening, time recording, time transfers, billing and debt collection.
  • Manage finance-related authorisations and access requests, ensuring alignment with finance policy and segregation of duties, and support periodic authorisation reviews with global finance managers and external auditors.
  • Perform regular checks of system error logs, following up and resolving issues promptly, liaising with end users and other functions (such as HR and ISS) where required, and escalating issues where necessary.
  • Prepare and manage change requests where technical changes are needed, working closely with Technology to implement and test improvements, and communicating changes to local offices.
  • Support senior Process & Infrastructure colleagues on strategic and business-as-usual projects, including testing new solutions and helping to train users.
  • Contribute to documenting finance policies and processes for inclusion in the Finance manual, and assist with training materials, communications and user training.
  • You will also be responsible for regular system maintenance activities, such as master data maintenance, data integrity checks and managing authorisations.

We are ideally looking for:

  • At least two years’ finance experience with exposure to a range of work, including strong skills in some of the following matter management areas:
    • Legal billing and eBilling
    • Time recording support
    • Matter opening
    • Work in progress (WIP) management / pledging
    • Cash collection
  • Experience in the professional services industry.
  • Experience of SAP4 Hana and/or SAP R/3.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills.

This role is based at the Linklaters London office with a hybrid working model available.
