About the role:

As an eBilling Assistant in our Finance function, you will support the efficient submission of billing data to our clients’ chosen eBilling platforms and help ensure accuracy, compliance and a seamless client experience. You will work closely with colleagues across Finance and the wider firm, as well as with external clients and vendors.

Your main responsibilities will include:

  • eBilling platform management: Uploads invoices to client systems in a timely manner and coordinates with clients and vendors to troubleshoot issues.

  • Query resolution: Addresses and resolves queries and rejections from clients and fee earners promptly.

  • Escalation and resolution: Identifies and escalates billing disputes, working towards timely resolutions.

  • Deadlines: Monitors and updates internal billing schedules to ensure internal and external deadlines are adhered to.

  • Data management: Maintains the eBilling console and ensures timekeeper/user records, matters and billing rates are accurate and up to date.

  • Managing new client setups: Assists with client configuration and implementation while ensuring compliance with eBilling policies and procedures, Solicitors’ Accounts Rules (SAR) and firm policies.

  • Client communication: Liaises with clients throughout the eBilling process, from set‑up to payment.

  • Collaboration: Works with other teams (for example, Credit Control, Client Finance, Billing and Pricing teams) to ensure compliance with eBilling requirements.

  • Relationship building: Collaborates and meets with internal and external client relationship teams.

  • Compliance and guidelines: Keeps eBilling guidelines current and communicates them effectively to relevant parties.

  • Staying updated: Keeps abreast of changes in eBilling regulations, procedures and protocols to align with industry standards.

  • Process improvement: Identifies areas for improvement in the eBilling process and supports the implementation of process or technical solutions to optimise eBilling operations.

  • Report generation: Develops and prepares detailed reports and data analytics for management to monitor billing efficiency and revenue performance.

  • Budget and financial support: Assists with budgeting, monthly accruals and billing‑related reporting.

  • Audit: Maintains comprehensive and accurate records of all eBilling transactions and related documents for internal and client audits.

We are ideally looking for:

  • Legal finance experience.
  • Experience in eBilling activities within a professional services firm.
  • A proven track record of delivering responsibilities as an eBilling assistant or in a similar role, contributing to operational excellence and stakeholder satisfaction.
  • Strong attention to detail, with consistently high standards of accuracy and compliance.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and effectively with a range of stakeholders.

This role is based at the Linklaters London office with a hybrid working model available.
