About us:
Linklaters is a global law firm, providing legal services in 20 countries and through 30 offices.
Linklaters is a people business. Being best in class in the eyes of our clients means that our people must be exceptional.
We look not only for brilliant minds, but for people who will thrive in our environment: people who love working collaboratively and demonstrate the innovative, efficient, agile, entrepreneurial, and responsible mind-set we aim to bring to every interaction.
Ours is an environment of outperformance. We achieve this not with targets and incentives, but by fostering a positive, supportive, fair, and open atmosphere.
We respect and value difference but insist on inclusivity. We celebrate all aspects of diversity and challenge any form of bias. This is vital to our ability to work as one team, with a common goal.
The Role:
The BD Manager will support the development and delivery of business development strategies to drive growth across the Capital Markets practice, with a particular focus on Debt Capital Markets and Derivatives. Working closely with partners and key stakeholders, you will identify and pursue opportunities through strong product insight and data-led intelligence. The role will play a key part in delivering client‑centric BD initiatives, strengthening internal and external relationships, and supporting cross-selling to achieve sustainable and profitable revenue growth.
Your Key Responsibilities:
Support the development and delivery of business development plans to drive growth across the Debt Capital Markets and Derivatives practices.
Ensure practice and client targeting strategies are aligned with global BD objectives and the Firm’s wider strategy.
Build and maintain strong relationships across global BD teams and the wider Business Development & Marketing function to drive collaboration and connectivity across regions.
Develop and execute coordinated global practice and client growth plans, identifying and facilitating cross-selling opportunities with international product teams.
Provide high-quality input into win strategies, pitches and panel submissions to support successful client outcomes.
Strengthen the market profile of the practices through effective management of global rankings submissions and legal directory coverage.
Work closely with Client & Sector BD teams to deliver sector-focused growth initiatives and compelling go-to-market campaigns for priority clients.
Leverage data, insights and technology to support horizon scanning, opportunity identification, pipeline management and the delivery of consistent, fit-for-purpose BD intelligence.
What we’re looking for:
Proven experience in business development within legal or professional services, ideally within Capital Markets and with exposure to Debt Capital Markets and/or Derivatives.
Demonstrated ability to develop and deliver BD strategies that are aligned to firm-wide and practice-level objectives.
A strong track record of identifying and progressing growth opportunities through client, sector and product insight.
Experience working effectively across global teams, fostering collaboration and connectivity between regions.
Strong analytical capability, with experience leveraging data, market intelligence and technology to inform BD activity and decision-making.
Confidence providing strategic input into pitches, panel submissions and client opportunities, working closely with senior stakeholders.
