GEN AI and Complex Matter Pricing Manager
Software Engineering, Data Science
London, UK
About us:
Linklaters is a global law firm, providing legal services in 20 countries and through 30 offices.
Linklaters is a people business. Being best in class in the eyes of our clients means that our people must be exceptional.
We look not only for brilliant minds, but for people who will thrive in our environment: people who love working collaboratively and demonstrate the innovative, efficient, agile, entrepreneurial, and responsible mind-set we aim to bring to every interaction.
Ours is an environment of outperformance. We achieve this not with targets and incentives, but by fostering a positive, supportive, fair, and open atmosphere.
We respect and value difference but insist on inclusivity. We celebrate all aspects of diversity and challenge any form of bias. This is vital to our ability to work as one team, with a common goal.
The Role:
We are looking for a Pricing Manager to play a key role in expanding the firm’s pricing capability for complex legal matters, including those supported by technology and AI-assisted delivery. As a trusted adviser to partners and senior stakeholders, you will lead the development and implementation of innovative pricing strategies for high-value, multi-jurisdictional work. As part of the global pricing team, you will drive the analysis and governance of commercial proposals while embedding advanced pricing tools, best practice and GenAI-enabled approaches across the firm. You will also leverage a deep understanding of the firm’s services and evolving delivery models to shape forward-thinking, value-driven pricing solutions.
Your Key Responsibilities:
Act as a senior member of the global pricing team, demonstrating accountability, driving continuous improvement and supporting colleagues to deliver high-quality outputs.
Partner with Senior Pricing Managers and senior stakeholders to evolve the firm’s commercial strategy, considering market trends, technological developments and competitive dynamics.
Lead and support the development of complex, high-value matter proposals, including those involving technology and GenAI-assisted delivery.
Advise partners and matter teams on pricing strategies, including financial modelling, scenario analysis, fee structuring and negotiation planning, acting as an escalation point for complex challenges.
Identify opportunities for standardisation by developing best-practice approaches, commercial models and playbooks to improve efficiency and consistency across the team.
Develop and utilise both standard tools and bespoke models to assess margins and recommend optimal fee arrangements, including AFAs, value-based pricing and hybrid structures.
Collaborate closely with pricing, LPMs and legal teams to manage AFAs within financial systems, driving improvements to processes and advocating for enhanced system capability.
Identify training needs and deliver structured development initiatives to strengthen pricing capability across stakeholders, while building a deep understanding of the firm’s services and evolving delivery models.
What we’re looking for
Strong commercial acumen with a deep understanding of complex pricing strategies, financial modelling and a broad range of B2B fee structures.
Proven ability to influence and build credibility with partners and senior stakeholders, demonstrating gravitas, sound judgement and the confidence to provide constructive challenge and commercially driven advice.
Highly proactive and self-motivated, with a strong sense of ownership and accountability, able to manage competing priorities and deliver high-quality outputs within tight deadlines.
Experience within legal operations, pricing, legal project management or a client-side legal function, with an understanding of how legal services are delivered and how delivery models are evolving, including through technology and GenAI.
A team-oriented and flexible mindset, committed to knowledge sharing, continuous improvement and developing both personal expertise and wider pricing capability across the firm.
