About This Opportunity
Our Commercial Banking division has a rich heritage of supporting businesses and the economic prosperity of the nation. Primarily focused on UK businesses and those with strong links to the UK. We provide customers with the support they need to help them grow, manage risk and improve efficiency.
Commercial Banking provides support to corporate clients through the provision of core banking products, such as lending, deposits and transaction banking services. Whilst also offering clients expertise in capital markets (private placements, bonds and syndicated loans), financial markets (foreign exchange, interest rate management, money market and credit) and private equity. This enables us to meet the varying and sometimes complex needs of all types of corporate clients.
You'll work as a product specialist in our Strategic Debt Finance team, providing support to senior colleagues, contributing to the overall business plan and income. You'll play an integral part of the deal team supporting origination, assessing and implementing structured debt for private equity owned corporate clients across both the mid and large cap markets.
What you’ll be doing:
- Origination of leveraged debt transactions for private equity owned clients across Corporate & Institutional Banking and Mid Corporate
- Prepare credit/investment committee applications, internal reports and marketing material
- Research future opportunities, analysing complex data to support client interaction and product offering
- Establish and support senior team members relationships with sponsors, corporate clients and advisors in order to enhance the Bank’s reputation and propose procurement of new business in line with agreed business plans
- Excellence in execution of deals ensuring alignment with internal and external partners, contributing to the business plan, ensure products are appropriately priced and that activity is aligned to the goals and values of the Group
- Undertake the duties of this role in accordance with the requirements of the company's Regulators, including FCA's Principles for Business

What you’ll need:
- Knowledge of the leverage finance sector.
- Familiarity and ability to deal with sophisticated financial models (strong Excel skills are required)
- Strong report and presentation writing skills and ability to communicate effectively at all levels and across different audiences
