JOB TITLE: Housing Development Manager

SALARY: The salary banding for this role in London is £97,655 - £114,900 for Outside of London it’s £83,411 - £98,130

LOCATION: Fieldbased (South West, South East, London & Home Counties). The role is contracted to either our London or Bristol office.

HOURS: 35 hours, full time

WORKING PATTERN: Fieldbased with regional travel and attendance at LBG offices. Work patterns are driven by business needs

About this opportunity

You’ll be leading strategic engagement with major home builders, industry bodies, and government stakeholders to drive growth in the New Build sector and improve access to housing for First-Time Buyers. Act as a subject matter expert on new build housing, influencing policy, shaping propositions, and ensuring Lloyds Banking Group remains a trusted partner in delivering innovative housing solutions aligned to our purpose of Helping Britain Prosper.

What will I be doing?

  • Develop and maintain strategic relationships with major home builders, trade bodies, and government stakeholders to maximise new build opportunities.

  • Engage with cross-industry organisations, regulatory bodies, and policy influencers to shape housing strategy and support access-to-housing initiatives.

  • Provide subject matter expertise on new build housing, including mortgage policy, government schemes, valuations, buyer incentives, and sector challenges and opportunities.

  • Monitor market trends, regulatory changes, and political developments to ensure compliance and strategic alignment.

  • Influence product development and proposition enhancements to meet market needs and support home ownership aspirations, particularly for First-Time Buyers.

  • Represent the Group externally at industry forums, events, and working groups, promoting Lloyds’ leadership in housing and sustainability.

  • Collaborate with internal teams (Intermediary Brands, Commercial, Homes, Group Sustainability) to align strategy and deliver integrated solutions.

What you’ll need

  • Mortgages and Home Builders experience, especially around New Build sector and housing for First-Time Buyers

  • Strategic Leadership: Proven ability to influence at senior levels, including writing compelling storytelling narratives to influence senior leaders

  • Supplier and Collaborator Management: Outstanding relationship-building skills across internal teams, suppliers, and industry bodies

  • Excellent influencing and communication skills, with confidence engaging diverse audiences.

  • Outstanding attention to detail, time management, and organisational skills.

  • Analytical ability to interpret complex data and turn it into actionable insights.

  • A growth mindset and ambition to continuously improve.

  • Confident presentation skills and communication skills
