JOB TITLE: 153930 Senior Manager, Financial Valuation Control (FVC) Non-Trading
SALARY: £92,701 - £109,060
LOCATION(S): Edinburgh
HOURS: Full-time

What you’ll be doing
This is a new role, with Lloyds Banking Group Commercial Banking Finance, as part of the Finance Valuation Control (FVC) function in Edinburgh.
FVC operates as a centre of excellence for product and valuation control including daily P&Ls, independent price testing, balance sheet control, prudential valuations and risk assurance.
FVC provides critical assurance for transparent and well‑controlled fair and prudent valuations that underpin financial reporting, regulatory compliance and balance sheet integrity. Whilst it sits within Commercial Banking Finance, it provides services to all divisions within the Group. FVC divides between teams focused on Trading Product Control, Treasury Product Control, Trading Valuations, Non-Trading and Risk Assurance.
The FVC Non‑Trading team is responsible for fair value production and/or oversight for the Insurance and Retail divisions, as well as for non-regulated Group entities (outside Lloyds Development Corporation). The team also delivers integrated control services for more complex loan and capital markets activities, particularly those operating with risk‑distribution models. This includes oversight of illiquid balance sheet instruments measured at Fair Value within the regulatory Banking Book.
Key responsibilities…
Valuation Oversight and Prudential Valuation
Lead the Independent Price Verification (IPV) cycle across FV designated loans, capital markets and issuance portfolios.
Product & Financial Control
Oversee any daily P&L requirements for businesses ensuring reporting is timely and supported by attribution commentary.
Oversee month‑end and quarter‑end ledger and financial control processes, ensuring completeness, accuracy and timeliness.
Stakeholder Engagement & Governance
Engage with the business teams for Loan Markets, Capital Markets, Capital Issuances and for Non-Core Assets on the delivery of results and services from the team.
Leadership & Team Management
Lead, coach and develop a team of valuation and product control specialists.
Change, Projects, Automation & Simplification
Support onboarding of new fair value models and enhancements to existing models.

What we’re looking for?
The role is for a finance, banking professional, with 5+ years of experience, with specialist knowledge of structured finance markets, fair value techniques for financial instruments, and a track record of successful product control.
You'll be able to be demonstrate the following attributes and behaviours:
- A financial control champion, able to identify, handle and address control events or gaps as they arise in a fair value, banking environment.
- A team leader, who takes responsibility and accountability for their areas of focus and guides and develops their team within an open feedback culture.
- A credible and trusted partner to business heads, who is a customer orientated, with a commercial understanding of the wholesale banking market and a proven ability to productively influence the outcome of relevant business decisions
- A force in driving change, transforming processes and delivering at pace, utilising available innovation tools effectively.
- A team player that builds effective relationships and collaboration across Finance and our partner functions and contributes to the wider management of their department.
