JOB TITLE: Market Data Manager, CIB

SALARY: £61,000 – £87,000 (dependent on location & experience)

LOCATIONS: London / Birmingham

HOURS: Full-Time

WORKING PATTERN: Our work style is hybrid, which involves spending at least two days per week, or 40% of our time, at one of our office sites. Colleagues with disabilities can be supported with workplace adjustments including hybrid working expectations in line with our Flexibility Works policy.

About This Opportunity

You’ll join our Corporate and Institutional Banking (CIB) Market Data Services team, playing a critical role in how market data is sourced, governed and optimised across the bank. Accountable for key vendors, cost control and risk management, you’ll ensure market data is aligned with regulatory and business requirements and remains cost‑effective.

Based within the CIB Chief Operating Office, we partner closely with internal teams and external suppliers such as Bloomberg and London Stock Exchange Group. As our Market Data Manager, you’ll bring subject matter expertise across contracts, usage, governance and supplier performance, helping to protect the bank while enabling colleagues to access the data they need to serve our clients and support CIB’s growth strategy.

Key Accountabilities

  • End‑to‑end management of market data vendors and contracts, including onboarding new services, contract implementation and ongoing supplier performance, working closely with Supplier Management and key vendors such as Bloomberg and London Stock Exchange Group

  • Oversight of market data inventory and usage records, including access management, usage reporting and cost allocation. Ensure contractual terms are met and support effective cost control across the business.

  • Proactive identification, assessment and management of risks associated with market data provision, including regulatory, commercial and operational risks, with issues managed through established governance routes

  • Partnering with internal collaborators to understand business needs, provide subject‑matter expertise on market data solutions, and ensure data provision aligns to current and future requirements

  • Driving optimisation and efficiency by evaluating solutions, finding opportunities for cost mitigation, and supporting delivery of a sustainable target operating model as the business evolves

  • Maintaining strong awareness of industry, vendor and regulatory developments relevant to market data, applying this insight to inform decision‑making and advise the business

What We’re Looking For

  • Significant experience (5+ years) working with market data or market data services, gained within a financial services organisation, market data provider or data services business

  • Experience managing market data vendors or client relationships, including contract implementation, usage considerations and ongoing commercial or service discussions

  • Demonstrated experience (5+ years) working with market data inventory, entitlement models, licence records or usage reporting, from either a consumer or provider perspective

  • Strong ability to identify and manage risk, including regulatory, commercial and operational considerations, applying sound judgement and supporting appropriate outcomes

  • Experience providing day‑to‑day leadership, coaching or supervision to colleagues, supporting development, knowledge‑sharing and effective delivery, with line management responsibilities as the role evolves

  • Analytical and structured thinking, with the ability to evaluate options, interpret data from multiple sources and support cost optimisation or efficiency improvements

We know that great talent comes from many backgrounds. Whilst this job advert may reference specific years of experience, we recognise that skills are developed in many ways, so if you have relevant, transferable experience, we encourage you to apply.
