The Real Estate Corporate Finance Team provides market leading advice to clients within corporate, infrastructure and government markets both in the UK and internationally.

Our work and our capabilities across the practice are broad and cover both real estate advisory and real estate M&A. What your days will look like:
We're recruiting an Associate Director(Senior Manager) to join our team, with the role primarily focused on supporting and growing our Real Estate M&A offering, based in either London, Edinburgh or Belfast.
The successful candidate will be a strategic thinker with a strong understanding of real estate transactions, capital structures and investment issues gained from experience advising on complex M&A and related corporate finance mandates. They will bring a strong track record of leading client engagements, acting as a technical lead in their chosen area, owning senior client relationships and converting market insight into high quality advice and repeat work. Relevant experience may include buy-side and sell-side M&A, capital raising, joint ventures, refinancing, strategic real estate transactions, business strategy, property development, site acquisition, sales, valuation and wider lead advisory work.
The role demands strong analytical and creative problem-solving abilities, allied to natural personal initiative. Communication, judgement and people leadership are critical, and the individual will be expected to lead sizeable transactions or workstreams end to end, direct delivery teams, manage risk and commercials proactively, present findings to senior stakeholders and synthesise strategic findings from quantitative and qualitative analysis. The bulk of the role will be client delivery on live Real Estate M&A and related transaction mandates, alongside clear expectations around business development, proposition development, market profile and the generation of new work and extensions of existing mandates.
As an Associate Director(Senior Manager) within the team the individual would expect to be involved in, and lead where appropriate, the following types of work:
Leading or supporting the origination and execution of a range of real estate corporate and asset transactions, including buy-side and sell-side acquisitions and disposals, IPOs, take privates, fixed income transactions, capital raising, advising on joint venture structures, funding options, OpCo PropCo splits and wider transaction structures
Advising clients on strategic options, investment cases and transaction readiness, including business planning, carve-out considerations, separation issues, portfolio repositioning and real estate implications of wider corporate transactions
Directing multi-disciplinary due diligence, valuation, modelling and execution workstreams, coordinating property, tax, accounting and legal inputs and supporting negotiations with counterparties, investors and lenders
Owning senior client relationships, directing delivery teams and proactively managing risk, quality, scope, commercials and timetable across engagements
Contributing materially to business development through proposition development, market mapping, leading bids and proposals, expanding client relationships and developing external market profile in Real Estate M&A.
This role is for you if:
Have a strong track record in transaction delivery, with the ability to lead complex engagements and maintain momentum across multiple workstreams or mandates while meeting deadlines.
Can demonstrate substantial relevant corporate finance, lead advisory, investment banking or property advisory experience, ideally including a good working knowledge of the commercial property market, together with recognised strength in at least one sub-market, sector or proposition area.
You are a confident presenter and facilitator with senior stakeholders, with the credibility to lead discussions, challenge constructively and represent the team in client and market-facing settings where required.
Have strong financial and analytical skills combined with a good understanding of business and finance and experience working on projects with mixed property, tax and accounting teams; financial modelling and transaction analysis experience would be advantageous.
Commercial awareness and judgement at a level which allows identification of client requirements, business issues to improve client service, risk issues in undertaking the work and opportunities to extend or originate work.
Evidence of managing and developing teams, including coaching more junior colleagues, supporting inclusive team culture and contributing to knowledge sharing, recruitment or broader team development activities.
Must possess an MRICS qualification (or international equivalent) or have equivalent work experience. This includes international candidates who qualify through experience in their home country
