About the role:

We are seeking an experienced client-side Management Contracting Representative to play a key role in the delivery of a landmark 350,000 sq ft commercial construction and fit-out project in Canary Wharf. Based in London, you will act as the client’s trusted representative, overseeing the developer’s construction activities and ensuring the project is delivered in line with agreed specifications, quality standards, budget, programme milestones, and contractual obligations.

Operating at the heart of a complex, high-profile development, you will provide robust oversight of project performance, manage risks, monitor compliance, and safeguard the client’s interests throughout the construction and fit-out lifecycle. You will serve as the primary liaison between the client, landlord, developer, contractors, and other key stakeholders, driving transparent communication, proactive issue resolution, and effective decision-making.

This is an opportunity to take ownership of a significant commercial project, influencing successful delivery through strong stakeholder management, performance reporting, governance, and a commitment to excellence across every stage of the build programme.

What your days will look like:

  • Represent the client on-site, safeguarding their interests throughout the construction and fit-out process while maintaining transparency, accountability, and strong stakeholder relationships.
  • Monitor project delivery and performance, overseeing construction progress, quality, schedules, health and safety compliance, and developer performance against agreed milestones and contractual requirements.
  • Coordinate stakeholders and communications, acting as the key link between the client, landlord, developer, contractors, consultants, and professional teams to drive alignment and resolve issues proactively.
  • Provide governance and reporting, producing progress updates, managing project documentation, identifying risks, mitigating delays, and ensuring successful project completion and aftercare support.

This role is for you if:

  • Have proven experience in management contracting or construction management procurement routes, ideally gained with landlords, developers, or main contractors within large-scale commercial property projects.
  • Possess commercial and contractual expertise, with a deep understanding of construction contracts, risk management, claims, variations, dispute resolution, and project delivery methodologies.
  • Can confidently oversee quality, compliance, and performance, assessing workmanship, site conditions, construction standards, and regulatory requirements to drive continuous improvement.
  • Excel at stakeholder management and collaboration, building trusted relationships with developers, contractors, consultants, and project teams to ensure successful project outcomes.
  • Bring analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage complex contracts, interpret technical drawings, identify risks, and make sound commercial decisions.
  • Are a proactive and resilient self-starter, combining excellent communication, organisation, and influence skills with the confidence to challenge, drive improvements, and deliver results in a fast-paced environment.
