The Position

Roche is seeking a Medical Affairs leader to shape the future of our Multiple Sclerosis (MS) therapy area. As the Group Leader Medical Affairs, you will lead an experienced team of Global Medical Science Leaders (MDs, PhDs, and PharmDs) who are collectively responsible for our MS medical affairs strategy. This team defines the integrated medical strategy—driving evidence generation, strategic engagement, and medical insights that directly influence how we bring innovative assets to patients worldwide. You will sit at the center of a cross-functional ecosystem, collaborating with specialists in Scientific Communications, Patient Partnership, and Real-World Data to ensure our science changes lives.

The Opportunity

In this role, you will:

  • Architect Evidence Strategies: Lead the design and execution of global evidence generation plans, bridging medical and market access gaps through clinical studies and Investigator-Initiated Studies (IIS).

  • Forge Purposeful Networks: Build and lead scientific exchange with top-tier academic specialists, clinical influencers, and healthcare stakeholders globally to drive RWD initiatives and research collaborations.

  • Translate Insights into Strategy: Synthesize complex medical insights to steer commercialization strategies at both the asset and Disease Area levels.

  • Enable Market Access: Provide the medical "north star" for market access strategies, ensuring our innovations are positioned for maximum patient benefit and operational success.

  • Champion Scientific Innovation: Secure the strategic input necessary to enable the introduction of next-generation therapies.

  • Lead with Global Influence: Collaborate seamlessly across Roche’s Pharma and Diagnostics Divisions and our global affiliate network to ensure a unified medical voice.

Who You Are

You are a visionary leader with deep scientific roots and a relentless passion for Neurology. You don’t just manage teams; you inspire experts to push the boundaries of what’s possible.

Your credentials include:

  • Deep Expertise: An advanced life-science degree (MD, PhD, or PharmD) with a specialization in Neurology or equivalent high-level industry experience.

  • Proven Leadership: A distinguished track record in Medical Affairs, with a demonstrated ability to lead, mentor, and develop high-performing expert teams.

  • Patient-Centric Ethics: Unwavering ethical standards and a mindset that places the patient at the center of clinical development and medical practice.

  • Strategic Agility: The ability to navigate complex global environments, make informed decisions under pressure, and influence stakeholders through exceptional communication.

  • Global Fluency: Mastery of written and verbal communication, capable of engaging and inspiring diverse audiences worldwide.
