Job Summary

This is a London-based role for a Senior Risk Manager covering the Prime Services and XVA desks. The candidate is expected to work closely with Trading, Sales, Prime Services In-Business Risk and Credit Officers in a fast-paced environment to monitor and ensure that risks remain within agreed traded risk appetite, and where necessary review and approve traded risk limit requests within delegated authorities. The candidate must have at least 7-8 years of prior Market risk experience risk covering securities and financial derivatives in a Financial Institution. Experience in Counterparty credit risk management is a plus.

Key Responsibilities

Business
• Engage all stakeholders (e.g. Business partners, Traded Risk, Finance, Legal and Compliance) to raise their awareness of Financial Markets’ Product Risks and how these are managed by Traded Risk.

Processes
• Monitoring risks of the Prime Services and XVA desks through daily limits monitoring risk reports and stress testing reports, ensuring that the business and risk exposures remain within agreed Traded Risk appetite,

• Review of daily Prime Services limit excess requests or new business requests and ensuring that these are attended to in a timely manner,

• Providing risk analysis and write-ups to the relevant weekly and monthly risk governance forums, ensuring that material key risks are highlighted for the attention of senior management,

• Participation in Prime Services’ new product and service offering and systems on-boarding and testing, ensuring that associated risks and relevant risk limit framework areas established and agreed with the business to ensure key risks are measured, monitored and kept within agreed risk appetite,

Risk Management
• Monitor and ensure that risk exposures within Prime Services and XVA always remain within agreed risk appetite parameters,
• Review of Prime Services client limit requests in a timely manner and ensuring that approvals are provided promptly and within delegated authorities, or otherwise escalated to senior management for attention,
• Design, review and approve risk limit frameworks for our Prime Services clients in conjunction with our Credit risk and In-business-risk partners, and ensuring that relevant analysis and risk proposals are provided to senior management for their approvals where necessary,

• Conducting semi-annual reviews of the Prime Services risk limit framework to ensure that the framework continues to remain appropriate for capturing the risks of the Prime Services business.
• Uphold the integrity of risk/return decisions, by challenging business and control function heads to demonstrate that risk origination and control decisions are properly informed and consistent with strategy and risk appetite,
• Be alert to significant market movement affecting key risk exposures within our portfolio and providing the appropriate response to material events or other risk issues through assessment and escalation of key risks,
• Ensure risk identification, measurement, reporting, and modelling capabilities are objective, consistent, and compliant with applicable regulations,
• Ensure that material risk exposures and related issues are reported to TRM Head, Prime Services and XVA for notifying the responsible Financial Markets Product Governance Committees and to Group and Business-level committees as appropriate.

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree or Above in a Quantitative Discipline
• Training: Background In Banking and Finance Risk Management
• Certifications: FRM Or CFA
